2015 FR-S monogram equivalent?
 

I'm looking at buying an FR-S in February or March of 2015 after I graduate college. I am a huge fan of the options provided by the monogram series, particularly the leather seats. I know that the 2014 monogram is a limited series which makes me nervous about the availability I will see when it comes time for me to buy my FR-S. Does anything know of any speculation about a "limited" type option for the 2015 model year? I want the FR-S purely for looks over the BRZ, but the BRZ does have a limited option at all times. Any guesses on this topic?

You'll still be able to get one. As "limited" as you think they are, you won't have an issue. I bet when you go to look at the 2015, there will still be unsold 2013's

If past history is any predictor of the future, then the odds are good that there will be a special release in calendar year 2015. What this release is and what features it will have is all a wild guess.

2016 will have a turbo so I would just wait for that.

I'm sure there will still be a couple out there even by the time you're ready to buy. I'm still seeing 10 series and 2013 MY still at the dealership lots so it's not like they're exactly selling like hot cakes. Especially now with the Z lowering their base MSRP a lot of people who care purely about displacement and horsepower will lean more towards Nissan.

Dealer where I bought my FRS has three Monograms in stock. I am sure your dealer can get one transferred if you really want a Monogram in February. They still have six 2013 base models in stock. Even with a marked down price the 2013 models don't seem to be selling.

Yea, the BRZ's seem to get off the lots faster, but even those there are a boatload of 2013s sitting around. You'll find part of it is because a lot of dealers live in a dream world. I'm getting quotes from some dealers for nearly MSRP for a 2013 on both the FRS and BRZ. Eventually they'll have to give that notion up. But, I'm sure there will still be monograms around in another 8 or 9 months - especially in the colder regions.

I am guessing there will be one special edition a year. 2013 had the 10 series, 2014 had monogram, 2015 has the RS. My guess is that they won't have another "limited" edition for 2015. That's just going nuts.

Probably because the discount most dealers are giving on the 2013 MY is only a couple hundred less than the 2014 which is ridiculous. Also, most people are smart and see resale value of having a 2014 over a 2013 so that's why they're still sitting around.

Yellow in 2015 with body kit and TRD exhaust. 2016 maybe a turbo but most likely 2.4L...
