The color white out
I have read a lot about this color in many threads. Is it really that bad of a color. I have ordered a 2014 FRS in white out. I am thinking I have made a really big mistake. Can some on help me put my mind at ease.

It's actually the nicest looking color on the frs IMO.

What??? Who the heck said Whiteout is a bad color? I think it's one of the nicest. I love the pearl finish over gloss.
|
Where the hell are you reading that it's bad?!...
Only bad thing I see is that it's the most popular and they charge more for it. I came to the conclusion that Scion charged more for it was because they knew it was going to be popular...and being popular means it's more favorable to the customers, meaning they like it more.:iono: |
So the Satin White Pearl is called White Out on the Scions? Didn't know that.
Anyway, I have a SWP BRZ and I love the color. With this color, you have two huge benefits. First of all, since it is a very light color, you don't have to worry about sun damage as much. Second, any dust that settles on the car is nearly invisible. Unless it's on the windows. Here's some other points to make. Swirl marks won't show up as much compared to a glossy black finish. Also, your car will be more visible on the road being white; this means slightly less chances of people hitting your car. Lastly, the pearl white looks beautiful. |
I almost thought you were trolling us, because Whiteout is one of the most popular colors. It's going to be replaced by "Halo" for the 2015 Model year, so you'll be having a piece of FR-S history I'd suppose, since Whiteout was the first white variant for the FR-S.
The FR-S I had was Whiteout, and the next one I'll get will also be white! |
Where did you read that it was one of the worst colors? Whiteout is an outstanding color on these cars. It comes down to personal preference.
|
It's a great color, the only downside would be repairs require a lot of feathering to hide it otherwise the new paint will stand out. Typical of all pearl paints (ditto for silver ignition).
|
I normally love white on cars, but didn't love the way Whiteout looks on the 86. I feel like it always looks a little dirty. It's hard to explain, because in some light I really like it, but I guess the color isn't crisp enough for me.
|
I think Whiteout/SWP is the classiest of all color options. That's what I wish I would have chosen if I were to go back in time.
|
I'm also in for the white fantrain! I'm also quiet positiv OP is trolling us
|
The only down side is you just need to claybar it more often cause brake dust can cause little rust spots other than that I don't see any problems
