just got a smoking deal on a low mile BRZ!

only 9000 miles, has some cool mods on it, all work and tuning done by a professional shop. I understand visconti tuning is a pretty well known shop around here? I'm so pleased to take over their handiwork.

Is this ANOTHER flex fuel fire? Or is it the same one as last time? I can't remember the pics

lold regardless haha

SomeoneWhoIsntMe 05-20-2014 09:48 PM

it's the (in)famous one that started that huge thread or two threads or whatever a year ago... it just went up for auction in the detroit area copart and I bought it. haha

ZionsWrath 05-20-2014 09:48 PM

How much? Why buy it?

jflogerzi 05-20-2014 09:54 PM

How much? You have big plans?

gramicci101 05-20-2014 09:57 PM

I'd be a little worried that the paint changes from orange to black. I think it's been in an accident.

Although OP did say that it's around the Detroit area. Maybe it's a yard decoration to help blend in with the surrounding city?

Emphasis on the "smoking".

SomeoneWhoIsntMe 05-20-2014 10:21 PM

I'd rather not get into how much I paid for it, all that matters is that it was affordable. I will tell you that bidding on insurance auctions gets expensive FAST. They make their money on you no matter how cheap the final bidding price is.

Goal is to get the damaged parts stripped down to the frame and then decide from there if it can be refinished correctly, or at least correctly enough to not rust in half within two years. In doing so I'd like to sell enough parts that are still good to make a decent amount of my money back.

Ultimately, I'd like to see my vvti 1jz-gte in there, 5x114.3, better front suspension for angle, and some other little stuff.

ZionsWrath 05-20-2014 10:27 PM

Well I guess you got ripped off then?

Start a build thread, take lots of pics, we'd all love to see it. What have you done to it so far if anything? What could you possibly sell? looks like anything worthwhile is trashed.

gramicci101 05-20-2014 10:34 PM

There seriously wasn't a better condition wrecked car? One that hadn't caught on fire?

Burrcold 05-20-2014 10:40 PM

That looks f'ing horrible.

SomeoneWhoIsntMe 05-20-2014 10:48 PM

well I sold the supercharger for $500, we'll see what kind of shape the trans is in, and the shortblock may be rebuildable. someone's interested in the wheels, it's got I believe a perrin exhaust as well as overpipe. front and rear brakes I'm sure are salvageable or I'll just core them, someone may want the front knuckles to go RWD on a subaru or something.

I wouldn't say I got ripped off, I'd just rather not devalue the car or the parts on it by bragging about what I paid for it.
