Tickets for yellow tinted headlight
 

hey fellows, I had Lamin-X yellow tinted headlight on my BRZ for almost 2 years now never got problem. until this morning driving to work, an mid age 25-30 officer pull me over on an intersection, and telling me my yellow headlight is illegal in CA I had it for 2 years and lots cop seen it and knew it, no problem.

the cop asking me to remove it before 6/18 and take a picture to the court show it is been removed. anyone had this problem beside me??

Weird, something that reduces your light output is illegal? Never would have thought..

I have an extra set of stock headlight from a local 86er that gave me a while back. I am going to put the stock headlight on and take some picture, after the judge take the case off, I am going put back my Lamin-X yellow tinted headlight. because I never had any problem for 2 years with them on even tons COPS seen me.

Then what are you asking us if that's what you're going to do?

I'm sorry but I'm going to be blunt.

This is probably the 1 reason why I hate driving a twin. The twin is definitely a car people will modify.

There are people who will do it legally, and there will be people who do it illegally. I.E. (I know its not D.O.T. approved, but I'm going to do it anyway)

So back to your "plan". Lets say you do what you say you are going to do and get away with it.

The cop that gave you the ticket is not going to retire and say "My work here is done! Planet earth is saved from another kid with vinyl."
He will see you again and he will write you another ticket. When you appear in court numerous times for the same offense, what exactly do you think the outcome will be?

Just run with normal headlights.

maybe he likes the way it looks, it can look good depending on the car.why does it bother you that people modify these cars? talk about being a stick in the mud if thats something that bugs you.
