OEM Audio Plus settings

what settings are u using? and what head unit do u have?

i installed the reference system last friday and im using what was recommended
tc and natural, i bumped up the bass 2 clicks
scion 2014 touchscreen headunit

wondering if anyone found something better

SC10N 05-20-2014 01:48 AM

Mine was installed about two weeks ago. Still haven't found the perfect setting...

When you say you bumped the base up-two, do you mean from the center (middle) or from the very lowest?

I have mine set:
treble -1 to -2 off middle
Bass -1 off full (highest)
Balance (front to rear) a notch or two to the rear.
TC / natural

I think something's wrong with mine because I'm not having the awesome experience that everyone else seems to be having. The front tweeters are distorting about every third song- for example: Rihanna - Stay, is extremely horrific sounding--major distortion anything at 40 or above.

Maybe something I'm doing wrong (or high expectations?), but I miss my old system in some ways, I think it just needed a sub?

I also upgraded to BeSpoke and Nav at the same time so it was a lot to fiddle around with for a while. But after two weeks I have tried almost every setting. 'Some' songs, IMO, seem to sound better on FEEL and others sound HORRIBLE on FEEL so I've just been leaving it on NATURAL...but something is missing? Even my go-to CD when I test a car stereo--Fleetwood Mac, Rumours sounds....empty? My Factory Corolla JBL system BLOWS this set-up out of the water!

I have the 2014 unit and OEM Audio + Reference System 400CF

I was tempted to post this same question, but I was going to call Daniel first.

Would appreciate any pointers too...

If you want more bass, but not quite as clear highs, go with this:

tC
Feel
Treble +2
Bass +3
Balance +2 Front

FOrgot to mention, my DSP is set to Low. Off kind of zaps the sound a bit.

Every source is different for me. I've found the following to be the best for my taste (mostly rock and alternative rock)...

All numbers are from center:

Satellite (XM Radio)
tC
SSP Feel
Treble +2
Bass +2
+2 Rear
ASL high

Bluetooth
tC
SSP Feel
Treble +2
Bass +1
+2 Front
ASL high

USB
tC
SSP Feel
Treble -2
Bass +2
+1 Rear
ASL low

When I talked to OEM+ they told me to set it to flat. Everything sounds much better than it did stock. But I have the BRZ so it is set to BRZ, since Impreza and Outback are drastically different sound stages. Unfortunately they came out with the good upgrade, the SL system, after I bought mine.

themajesticone 08-20-2014 07:41 PM

I have mine at

Feel
treble +4
bass -2

sounds pretty good!

l0aded 08-21-2014 09:51 AM

I'm surprised so many people are off the natural setting recommended by OEM Audio+.

Jyn 08-22-2014 03:42 PM

I used normal OEM+ settings - tC, flat err'thang.

Switched to Feel and -2 Treble, +2 bass. Things sound more interesting, that's for sure
