Dry sump, any one done it yet?
I'm getting closer to the point of going dry sump in my track 86. Wondering if anyone else has already done it?
I've emailed Peterson and Dailey Engineering to see if they have developed something yet, anyone else worth talking to? Had a good look last night, and putting where the AC currently is seems the simplest. Had a 4 stage pump in the workshop and it looked like that would just fit in, a 3 stage certainly would. The first problem is the OEM accesory fan belt arrangement needs a pulley where the ac is. We're thinking to overcome this issue, to just drive the alternator off the crank pulley, so it doesnt need to route over to the right. Would use an electric water pump which has other benefits anyway. Ideally, would like to use a ds pump with an aos built in. Then planning on fabbing up a tank to sit where the battery currently is (RHD) and relocating smaller battery to under/behind the dash. Also not sure at this point as to the feed in point. On an ej its straight to the filter, the fa maybe different. It may be a case of feeding it back into a gutted out OEM pump. Any tips or leads at this point appreciated. Before you ask, yes I need dry sump. Its already become an issue on semi slicks. And I have full slicks I want to start using. No, I dont want to try one of the enlarged pans that others are making/selling. |
have you contacted Hypertune in Australia?

Hypertune just got back to me and said they're planning on making a kit version of Bea's setup. No details on pricing or timeframe yet.

What's that behind the intake manifold, a raising rate fuel pressure regulator?
|
we don't tend to use rising rate regulators over here, mostly just 1:1 reg's as that makes tuning a lot easier.

some details of Hypertune's drysump with estimated pricing have been released: https://www.facebook.com/HypertuneAu...03685366311120
