Microfiber, drying towels, etc with your laundry?
How many of you do your laundry mixed with drying towels and microfiber etc? I was doing a load of wash tonight and it has all of the above in it. I figured I can't be the only one so I thought I would gather some empirical data in this hard hitting thread :paddle:

Microfiber will pick up lint... I usually just hand wash the microfiber though, easy enough.
I wait until enough of my towels have been used so that they make up a small stand alone load.
All my microfiber towels get washed separately from my clothes. I even keep the more expensive, better quality ones separate from the general purpose ones. No fabric softener or dryer sheets. My wife thinks it's funny...
I live in an apartment, so it cost me ~$5 for a wash/dry for one load. I live with a fashion oriented woman, so I already spend $20 a week on washing clothes, so I am not all that interested in doing an extra one just for my towels.
Usually I just throw them in with everything else, but the lint can be a real pain to take care of. |
I do them in a separate wash with it's own special detergent as to not get car cleaning chemicals or gunk from the car into the clothes.
I wait until I have enough for a small load and then wash them separately with some Blackfire microfiber cleaner & restorer.
Microfiber towels are separate from my laundry. I have a good bit and wait til I have enough for a small load, too. Dry low heat, no fabric softener/dryer sheets.
I wear grub clothes to wash the car, I put the towel in with them.
How do you not have enough towels for it's own load when you're done? Wash mitts, large towel top half and front of car, large towel lower half and rear bumper of car, small towel for passenger door frame, small towl drivers door frame, small towel trunk opening, small towel engine opening w/ additional towel for wiping components, small towel exhaust tips, small towel wheels. |
im lazy as fuck
darks, whites, uniforms, regular clothes, towels, and mircofiber towels all get thrown into the same wash the only thing i seperate are my "red shop towels". i really messed up one time and threw them into the same wash as my white towels. now i have several pink towels that i wash my rims with. |
Why would you wash your car towels with your clothes? Do you shop at Value Village for clothes?
Keep them seperate. Presoak with oxy, wash with hot water. I just use woolite. Add about 1/2 cup white vinegar during rinse, then rinse again. Tumble dry low.
