TmP's Blue Budget Beater BRZ Build
Picked my 86 up last weekend.
Got 900 miles on the clock now, but almost all of it freeway driving thus far. Plan: Dedicated drift toy Planned mods: whatever it takes to make it work for me Being that I just got the car and need to get a feel for it yet, as well as find its strengths and weaknesses, my mod list is pretty darn brief thus far. lol - Megan Strut tower braces Installed the front, fits fine. Hard to fuck up an aluminum bar with 2 brackets... Might be placebo but the car feels firmer in the front. The rear is not on the car yet, as I will decide on whether or not to use it once I had a chance to track the car. - Grim Speed master cylinder support This is a must and takes some of the suck out of the abysmal stock brakes. Quick and easy to install, just don't drop the aluminum pad, as it will most likely end up on the skid plate and for obvious reasons a magnet won't help you recover it. haha - Beatrush "drift button" Just my luck I guess, but the day I received my beatrush ebrake button, Perrin released theirs and while the BR is fine, all other "drift buttons" suck **** compared to the Perrin, due to the oring. Oh well, at least this stuff is cheap, should have the perrin version next week. - Beatrush white spherical shift knob All my other rides have Hurst white spherical shift knobs, so I needed one of these. Unfortunately it's freakin' tiny, but tiny balls are still better than no balls I suppose. Temporary solution until I find a proper knob. Can't stand the stocker - on any car for that matter (unless it was Hurst equipped from the factory). - Private Label Track Pipe Being that a stock BRZ sounds like the bastard child of a beetle and a vacuum cleaner, the stock exhaust had to go, but because I couldn't decide what route to go for power, I couldn't order a full system yet. The temporary fix is said race pipe. Not great, but at least a touch louder. Almost audible actually. And saves like 20 lbs off the gay ass fake dual exhaust. That's all for now. Should have sacrificial drift meats and a set of white wheels in either 17 or 18 next week. Also, brakes pads are a must and I am contemplating cutting the cats out to let 'er speak up a little. We shall see. Should have decent pics tomorrow. The cell phone ones I had look like feet on the PC monitor... |

Funny, I was just looking into getting your shifter. lol
Pics to come later today. |
Adding pics on this forum is a PITA...
Anyway, decided to keep the stock powertrain and just go FI. Parts on order: - TWM STS - TWM shifter extension SS - M1 knob SS - Shifter bushings front and back - Perrin SS drift button - Scan Gauge 2 - Gtech RR (not exclusive to the BRZ obviously, but I want to get a baseline dyno before going FI) - Clear side markers Not 100% on which way to go FI wise yet, but I'll most likely go Kraftwerks. Once the car actually has "some" power I'll decide on what Suspension mods are required. Got megan rack ends laying around, but haven't had a chance to put 'em on yet. And to be fair, with as little seat time as I have had thus far, I didn't really need them. LOL Wheels: 15x6 et38 Jetta steel wheels don't fit for drift meats. Found that out the hard way... :( Getting used to the sound of the car, with the windows down it's not half bad now. Hope the blower will add some to the overall audio as well. lol |
A proper drift car sleeps sideways :P

C30 Kraftwerks kit - Ordered :)

This weekend is Blower Weekend! :)
I love this car, but it desperately needs the power. Even om Mexico's slick roads and with the stock prius tires, the car has a hard time to keep the tires spinning. More so than I thought! Future mods? Undecided on wheels / spacers etc. Going back and forth between 17s and 18s. |
Decided on wheels, undecided on tires.
Anyone wanna give me some input, chime in! 18x9 et35. 235 40 or 245 40???? Want to order today. |
