Lowering options with (near) stock rates and adjustable dampers?
Hey there.
Does anyone know of any lowering options with (near) stock rates and adjustable dampers? Really like how the BRZ rides but want to lower it for AutoX, occasional track days. Need adjustable dampers and recommendation for good swaybars. Thanks! ~M |
Why do you want to lower it for autox and track days? It handles just fine at stock ride height, and when you're pushing hard enough to need upgraded suspension you'll want higher spring rates.

Lowered at stock or near stock spring rates will result in lots of time on the bumpstops, I don't think that is the droid you are looking for.

btw, setting up a car for auto-x and road track are two complete separate things. you should pick one and then modify with whatever is a better fit for that.

If you want to do a jack of all trades, I'd aim for something with squarish spring rates and high quality dampers. Adjust sway settings to help it rotate more or less depending on the event. Not perfect, but you should be able to find a setup that does very well at everything you've mentioned. |

This sums up what I'm looking for nicely. I'm watching the Bilstein thread closely, but otherwise this describes what I'm after. Are there any existing kits out there that you would recommend for this kind of setup? Thanks! |
I'd probably go with RCE Tarmacs or Swift Spec R's if you're going to get better shocks at the same time.

Honestly, just starting to look, so budget is pretty open and I haven't decided on coil-overs or strut/spring. Open to all possibilities.
Thanks! |
