AC Rattle

Just wanting to see if anyone has a low grade rattle during idle with AC on? If so, what this an issue to be addressed by Toyota/Subaru? Or is it simply an idiosyncracy?

Where is it coming from?

I don't have a rattle but when the AC is running I have a squeak every 15 seconds or so. This is totally distinct from the crickets.

It sounds like it is in the engine compartment. I am sure it is the compressor yet I don't know if it's normal for the twins. If anyone has not experienced this low grade rattle. I will let the dealership hear it and see what they say. I am getting my 1st oil change and tail light replaced. I will let you all know what they say which is probably "oh, that's totally normal...don't worry about". Which I will not accept as an appropriate response.

Does it should like a plastic flapping sound ?

No. It really sounds like a low grade metallic rattle. It is probably normal and is only when the compressor turns on for the AC when I am at idle.

It may just be part of the territory.

The vent makes a pretty annoying electronic/buzzing noise when the AC is running. I doubt this is an issue though, maybe just how it sounds when it's operating.
