Readers ride

So I recently came across readers ride. It looked like something would like to give that a shot. To sum it up for those who haven't heard of it. It's basically an interview, with a montage of your car. Essentially it's a video that consists of you answering questions about your car, clips of your car driving, still images, car chase clip, scenic routes, Ect. Now because I have no skills at all with editing video or how well my camera records audio. It will be a test run, and if successful I would love to do more. At this point I'm mainly interested in modified cars at this moment. Any biters?

I'd be interested. Perhaps you should come to an autox or track day for some footage.

how about a short video-documentary about an owner's other hobbies and how an 86 ties into it and their personality. just imagine the feels.

BRZPDX 05-12-2014 01:21 PM

I'll do it, my schedule is pretty flexible this week. Let me know!

Noted. But I'm going to really leave it up to the the person being interviewed. Just so it could have more of a personal feel or style to it.

I wish I could make it out for a track day. But all the fun things are on weekends and I work weekends. But I would love to do this with you. Shoot me a text on your availability and well see if we can make it work.

I could tie that back into the mix. I like that idea. Basically how I have it imagined is ill have a series of questions, and they will be answered while it flashes back with the interview and the clips.

Haha. I was actually thinking you, josh, or Kevin when it came down to being a test run. Shoot me a text and we can go over details and junk. It will probably be a couple day thing.

Some good Reader's Rides

I've actually been contemplating this as a side-business. After the (very) amateur documentary I shot at the 25 hours of thunderhill, this is something I've been desperate to do but haven't lately had the time (but will this summer). I think several racers would pay to have a proper documentary of their racing made.. maybe just 1 weekend or maybe a whole season over the course of a few episodes. I could parlay that into creating a video résumé.

I've been planning on doing one of these for my father as a gift to me but also for me, it will give me a chance to hang out with my father for a couple weeks during shooting and learn more about him during the interviews.

Sounds like a great idea. So who's up first?

I have Friday off but not sure how long I'll be available, and if I am it will be earlier in the day. I may be free Sunday and Monday too since it's a long weekend.

dvsidboy 05-22-2014 03:41 AM

What is your work schedule like? My free times are:
Sat from 9am to 3pm
Tuesday until 3pm
Wednesday until 3pm

These can change for emergency appointments.

I think historic highway by Mult Falls during the weekday should be nice with less traffic. There are spots before the fall where you can post up the camera on the side of the road.

I'm all yours, you're the director!

Wednesday would work best. Wanna schedule for like 12 and just go from there? I just want footage at this point.

BRZPDX 06-13-2014 02:45 PM

sounds good. I will put that in my schedule.

Lets meet at the Plaid Pantry in historic Troutdale town.
