Rattling noise under Acceleration 5k RPM or more

Hi guys,

I've finally broken in my car and I started pushing her a little more, I started noticing a rattling noise coming from the dash or the engine. It's kind of like something knocking together when the engine is under load causing them to hit each other. It happens around 5k and get's louder as the engine spins faster. The engine seems fine and there's nothing weird about it. It's like something is loose somewhere.

Thanks!

Yeah, mine does the same depending on the temperature outside. Haven't seen a fix yet. I think it's just another rattle that is so common with this car.

glad to know I'm not the only one... I first thought it was the sound generator tube hitting the engine because it's pretty close and not held down super tight but i've put a soft towel in between and the sound is still there. So that's not it.

I removed my sound generator completely, so not it for me either. It's something behind the dash, but I haven't sleuthed much to find the issue. If I find anything, I'll probably post something. It's so inconsistent, so that doesn't help.

Yeah I definitely think it's behind the dash. I'm completely stock too except for a drop in filter.

Funny this thread was posted because I heard the same noise today for the first time.

Today was the first time we've had 80 degrees outside since last year...
