Is my car insurance stiffing me??
I was just wondering if anyone's ever had any problems with their car insurance.
I recently got into kind of a bad accident and my car insurance has been pretty unprofessional and unhelpful about the whole process. Calls have been ignored, I feel like they're seriously lagging on getting everything finalized, even the owner of the body shop my car is currently at said that my insurance company has been pretty unprofessional. This is my first major accident so I really have no idea of the process and whatnot. What's the worse case scenario and is there anything I can do to speed things along? PLEASE HELP!! |

Who's your insurance provider?
I've dealt with Geico, Progressive, and Traveler's on different incidents and they's all been super professional, helpful, and quick to respond. |
...National General. =/

I know that smaller insurance companies tend to drop their clients in any accidents regardless of fault. National General seems to be a decent sized company if they can afford tv commercials so I don't see why they aren't responding but that is terrible service.
I had a friend who got rear ended by a motorcyclist...and lost. Lol how do you lose when you get rear ended?! When your insurance company bails. From what I read about people's experiences with smaller companies, all they're really good for is a "proof" of insurance for when a cop pulls you over for some violation, not for accidents. Good luck with your insurance though and hope they fix your car soon! |
i am a drp for like 20 insurance companies i have never heard of them, some of those smaller companies will just deny payments.

They used to be GMAC, they changed their name to National General in 2013. I've been doing some research on the company and I guess they have a B- with the Better Business Bureau... But I'm reading a lot of complaints about their services.
:sigh: |

Have you talked to a claims adjuster? Did you get a claim number if you did? If you're at fault, the worse case scenario is that the insurance drops you and the other persons sues you and takes all your assets and garnishes your wages if you don't have enough. If you're not at fault, the worse case scenario is that the insurance company drops you and you need to sue in small claims court against the other person. The most important question is...ARE YOU OKAY? If you haven't seen a doctor, you should go see one. You've probably suffered some whiplash or something of that sort from the accident. Don't be afraid to hire a personal injury lawyer. |

And dont bother with BBB, they are a nobody. They're like a glorified yelp, in a way. Also, could you explain in better detail what happened(the crash, the other car/cars involved, insurance, body shop etc) |

Just curious, were you at fault :3? When i had all state they got to me very quickly, probably less than two days, i was also at fault. Worst case scenario is the other party claiming inury and your insurance going in on it >.> My brother had a little love tap and the other party was all ok and claimed injury a few days later without telling us. They got an extra 5k and our insurance went up a double. When i got into a car insurance but i hit no one, it only went up a little even though there was over 30k in damages.

I was at fault. Just a bad day; had a bad gut feeling something was going to happen but went against my instincts. Luckily, no one was hurt. My boyfriend even helped the other guy pull his bumper and fender out so he could drive his car. So no injuries. I've been "working" with an agent, if you can call it that. My car is currently at Insurance Certified Collision in Pomona. Chris, the guy that opened his shop to me on a Sunday, has been very helpful and can't get any answers from my insurance either... I'm just tired of this waiting game. My dad was saying that in the state of California, insurance companies can't just drop you. And if they keep ignoring me, I should file a claim with the California Insurance Board or something like that... I'm thinking I might have to take legal action if they keep ignoring me...? Or is there even a point?? |

I was making a left turn, there were some cars blocking my view but I assumed it was clear for me to turn. I didn't see the black truck going straight. I hit him on the front driver side with my front passenger side. Luckily, no one was hurt. The cops came but didn't write up a report because no one was hurt. My boyfriend used his truck to pull out his bumper and fender so he could drive the truck to his house. I was towed to an auto body shop in Pomona. Insurance Certified Collision. He owner opened his shop for me that Sunday, my car has been there ever since. The auto shop sent the insurance company pictures of my car and the estimate on Saturday. The agent said he received everything on Monday when I called on Tuesday and said that everything should be finalized by Wednesday morning. Throughout this whole time, my insurance has only called me 3 times. Twice to ask what happened, I was really sick the first time the agent called, and once to return one of my calls (on Tuesday). I haven't heard from the agent since Tuesday. I've made over 10 calls in the past 3 days just to talk to someone about the status of the claim. No one is answer their phones, the agent, his supervisor, or his team. I've left everyone messages and found out that everyone is going to be out of the office from today till the 12th... The accident happened on April 27, 2014. |
Have you tried calling the number to check the status of your claim??
