New in South Bay. BRZ Dealer recommendations for TSBs?
Hey guys,
So I'm new to the area. Moving cross country from NJ and I already got my car shipped out here. Any recommendations on dealerships that provide good warranty service and knowledgable with the TSBs. (and ones to avoid) Sick and tired of service advisors thinking I am crazy when I bring these up. I still need the following TSBs done on my car: - crickets (first TSB done back in Jersey a year ago made it worse) - rough idle between 600 and 900 when A/C on - rattles with home link mirror I currently work in Sunnyvale. In a GBS BRZ still running NJ plates if you happen to see my flying up the road. Cheers. |
Stevens Creeks Subaru has a great service team. Ask for Christina as your service advisor.

I had all of my TSB's done at the dealership I bought from, Carlsen Subaru. They're in Redwood City, so depending on where you are in the South Bay, it might be a little bit of a drive. They've been absolutely fantastic to work with though, so I can't recommend them enough.

Carlsen has a great service department, but they supposedly get booked up well in advance because of it.
I avoid Stevens Creek Subaru at all costs, unless I'm buying a part for the WRX (but even that tests my patience). So far all of my service has been at Capital (where I got it) and I'd say I'm about 90% satisfied with them. Getting two phone calls and an email asking be to do a survey after every interaction (including an oil change) is a bit annoying though. |
I haven't been to the other Subaru dealers in the area yet, but I would avoid Capitol.
I brought my car in for warranty work. The airbag light was on so they had to replace a module. They washed my car after I had told them not to, and they put swirls all over the paint. This was two days after I detailed it - the paint was flawless before they washed it. When I went to pick up the car the following week, the airbag light was still on, and I was informed the tech doing the work forgot to plug a connector back in. It was another 20 minute wait. I would hope they either double check their own work or have somebody sign off on it before saying something is good to go. |
