Your choice in injectors for staying with the stock block

So I am not looking to build the motor any time soon but I am at the point in my build where it is time for fuel upgrades. (I still want to get a dyno before we do to see how far we were able to push the stock fuel system on FI and E85)

I am looking at the Deaschwerks fuel pump but I keep finding different opinions on fuel injector needs for my goal. I will not be going over 500 obviously giving the stock motor but I would like to think 380 to maybe low 400's would be possible as a high boost setting.

What are you guy's finding is working well so far? Any one using injectors off another Subaru or other vehicle that is easier to come across?

Thanks, I am searching and will update if I find what I am looking for but I would like some feedback from current users as well. :thanks:

ID 1000's great to tune.....

I will look into those now, how about the Deatschwerks 700cc's? They also have smaller but the price is the same so unless they cause drive-ability issues I figured going bigger was probably better.

DW's reputation is less than stellar.... I had FIC's, @jamesm has DW900's. From them all, he absolutely loves ID 1000's and I can atest to them as I tuned the drivability portion of them on my car with his help.

I guess it's go big or go home lol.

Thanks for letting me know DW is having reported issues I will go look for that now are they just failing? I ask because the fuel pump seemed like a great option.

Nothing in particular about failures in BRZ... Just the general reputation you will find across the web about them, and know reputable vendors in here have posted before they dislike them because of failure rates.

Best pump to get is @fulblown Walbro 485 drop in tank kit.

I've had nothing but bad luck with DWs. I'm about to throw mine away and get some IDs.

I have 550s and a 270lph pump from fullblown if you want an inexpensive upgrade. I'm moving up to walbro485 and 1000s myself. Pm me if you're interested.

He might have trouble with some 100cc injectors.

LOL, would be limited to only vacuum, under 0 PSI....

One Thousand Cubic Centimeter per Mnute Injectors I meant.

Pretty much agreeing with everyone on here. ID's or FIC's for sure. I have FIC 1100's on mine, and the car runs great! Part throttle, idle and start up is almost like stock. Didn't even have issues starting in the -27 degree winter we had this year.

What kind of issues are you having with the DW injectors?

I'm running the 700cc DW and I'm experiencing an idle dip when quickly jabbing the throttle at idle. I already had the car retuned several times by my tuner but they still could not tune it out. I was thinking that maybe it's the injectors. Initially I would get the idle dip even with slight tip in of the throttle but my tuner was able to fix that.

Startup is also not that smooth. When starting it would feel like the engine is dying then it would idle normally. Sometimes I have to crank it up a second time before it starts.

All this happened when I swapped the injectors. What do you guys think?

I know two other people who are having the same problem. Hard starting and idle dipping. We all have the same DW injectors and same tuner.

I got to try a Full Blown turbocharged car with Full Blown injectors tuned by the same tuner. It was very smooth. No idle dipping and startup was smooth.

Alright I setup to buy the Full Blown Injectors and Pump from @Reaper. So problem solved, a member hooking up another can't beat that!
