Got my Argento

Got my Argento automatic just a few minutes ago and I am extremely pleased. Members of Scion management were there, loads of SWAG given-in particular a carbon fiber license plate frame with the number 23 of 86 on the back. They will also be sending me a car cover (how cool is that). Pictures were taken and will appear in the local paper. Having driven the manual at Long Beach I was pleasantly surprised at how responsive the auto was. The fit and finish is excellent and the car handles amazingly.

The dealer was great and one of the salespersons was very knowledgeable about the car. An overall great experience.

The dealer has two other FRS's coming in that do not have deposits yet, one is Firestorm Red. If interested call Kitt Kinne at Yuba City Toyota Scion in Yuba City, California. He is a great guy to work with.

congrats man

Zgrinch 05-18-2012 07:02 PM

Congrats. Great car and great to know you had a good experience with your dealership and salesmen. That's how it should be.....

Pay attention all you blacklisted dealers.....not only is he showing off his new car, but he is making a plug for his salesmen..... That's how it works around here.

Congrats!

Russv, looks great! Congratulations!

According to www.meetways.com the half-way point between you and I is Penny's Diner in Encino, NM. That's avoiding highways of course, who wants to use highways!
:burnrubber:

Meet you for breakfast on Sunday?

(OK, maybe a little far for breakfast, but enjoy the new ride!)

Yes it does look a bit plain, BUT it doesn't show the dirt, road dings, and various scrapes. I've had a red car which was beautiful but road dings and the resultant touch up paint looked bad. Also have had a black and dark grey colored car, same situation. I am in a bit of a rut with a silver IS 250 (essentially the same color) and a silver Honda CRV. The red was very tempting though. Dadhawks' looks fantastic.

civicdrivr 05-18-2012 10:23 PM

I typically don't like silver cars but it looks really good on the FR-S.

Thanks.

I'm already working on the pricing for a "full frontal" 3M bra for it, just for the reasons you mention. I do love the red though.

Congratulations Russv! I am your evil twin, also went with Argento and an automatic. Those paddle shifters are going to get a work out after she is broke in!

I've discovered that the doors are loooong and my narrow garage. Bit of a struggle to get out.

the downfall of 2 door cars!

Lonewolf 05-19-2012 02:45 PM

My brother had the same problem with his one car garage. We affixed some flexible rubber lining to the walls/shelves at the level of the driver's side door. Result...he can get out easily without dinging up his door.

I detailed my car today which is a good exercise in finding how well a car is put together. I am extremely pleased with the fit and finish, small panel gaps, and quality of the paint. My only complaint is the extremely flat plane of the hood (bonnet). In a car with a rather voluptuous body I would have liked to see at least a small power bulge to go along with the front wheel arches. I feel like I'm piloting a small aircraft carrier. Other than that, I love the car.

Dimman 05-20-2012 04:15 PM

Excellent colour choice.

Oilers99 05-20-2012 10:16 PM

Hey russv think you could throw up a few more pics? Looks really awesome and that's the color I have coming as well!

Prava 05-21-2012 06:32 AM

Congrats, bro! The silver looks great from the front! More than I thought!

TPO 05-26-2012 10:53 AM

Have always loved the silver paint Toyota puts out

Grateful Dave 05-26-2012 12:32 PM

:thumbsup:Congrats

Went to a Eurosunday event for sports car enthusiasts. My FRS was the only one there and many people didn't know what it was. One of the few who did was a 10 year old boy! Everyone thought it was cool.

PD5015 05-28-2012 01:02 AM

congrats!
