A more correct statement would be:

"I like my FRS, but not the way it is. I'll make the necessary modifications to get it to that point over time. It'll be a complete car eventually. I think. Hopefully. We'll see...."

The whole point of modifying a car summarized into one statement.

"Until something new and more exciting comes out and then I will dump it like a hot potato"
Oh wait...this isn't the Shit Owners Won't Admit thread is it?

To answer the original question as per the thread title I would guess someplace back in the 1930s.
All you guys that think the HP wars are new can guess again. The only thing that has ever changed is the numbers just keep getting higher every decade or so.

It's funny how 21.4:1 and 17.9:1 steering used to be considered "quick" and "fast" ratios respectively back then. These days both would be considered quite slow.

Reminds me of the first time I drove an Evo 9 and was blown away by its 13:1 steering rack. Now it seems like every sporty car comes with that standard. Just shows how much perspectives can change over time.

Frontenac overhead valve kit for the model T.

The trusty knob of ginger up old Dobbins bum before the chariot races.

The first motor race was held immediately after the second motor car was built.
