A shock absorbing wheel that could have future use on cars
 
I thought this was interesting. Theoretically, something like this could virtually end bent rims... whether it would look good on a car is another matter.

Not the same design but same principle.
You'd need many more shocks than the 3 being used on the bike and wheelchair if an application on a car was viable and some sort of centerpiece to stabilize all of the shocks so that if any one shock compresses, the other shocks remain in equilibrium.
This would also negatively affect driver feel for the road, which is very important, whether you're riding in a luxury vehicle, sports car, or econo car for a driver's perception as to how safe a a road is.
The wheels are a nice thought, but your car's suspension should be adequate for the road the suspension was designed for.
