Is there a translation needed? It's pretty much same steps you do w other vinyls

ESBjiujitsu 05-18-2012 03:30 PM

so thats literally it...they are just putting carbon fiber wrap over the stock hood?

ichitaka05 05-18-2012 03:32 PM

Yup... pretty much~

Slartibartfast 05-19-2012 03:03 PM

LOL... And I was going to do the opposite. Carbon fibre hood, then have it painted so it wasn't noticable.
Different strokes for different folks.

BTW, I've decided against the carbon hood upon feeling the weight of the aluminium hood. It might save a pound or two, but I can think of better ways to spend $600. On beer for example.

So. Much. Beer!

Yeah, the ~5lbs if you're lucky spent on a dry carbon hood really doesn't make too much sense. The aluminum hood is plenty light enough. You could do much better putting it towards lighter wheels, battery, going to the gym and losing weight, etc.

And that vinyl wrap is the worst thing I've ever seen. RICE!!!

yeah i was considering many carbon fiber parts and painting them the stock color. Like carbon roof, carbon hood and trunk but yeah time will tell with the weight savings is really worth the $$$$.....but this carbon wrap is just sad

:word:

Somebody had to say it.

I think a lighter battery and flywheel would be some more reasonable $$$ ways to lighten the car up rather than going all out on some carbon fiber. I would only see carbon being useful on a car like this for the most extreme of track cars..... or idiots:lol:

I think its kinda cool, get the CF look for super cheap. Sure it's rice boy...but if you say you weren't part rice-boy in high school, you're too young or you're a liar!

Why just the hood though? Heck, if you're gonna be a pretenda do the whole car!

For full effect strip the interior and cover every panel, then go around telling people that your car has a carbon fiber monocoque.

ESBjiujitsu 05-19-2012 07:45 PM

if your going to go.....go all out lol!!!! :w00t: I vote for a 100% fake 100% carbon fiber car :bellyroll:

chate 05-19-2012 07:46 PM
