SAFE?:running nokya yellow bulbs in factory foglight housing
i wanted to upgrade my factory fog lights on my brz limited to h11 housings. I ordered a pair but i wasn't happy with the quality of them so i am looking to return them.
I'm looking at running a Nokya Hyper Yellow PSX24W (OEM Size) in my standard brz Foglights (Plastic Lense). I believe the bulbs are 24w but may run hotter due to yellow coating on the bulb. Do you guys think these will melt my factory housing lenses? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys |
I can't say for sure on your specific housings, but I have ran that exact stage 1 bulb in a corolla, tacoma, tc1, tc2 and currently in the FRS with zero issues. but all of them had glass lenses. But the housings were all plastic. I would not even consider the stage 2 due to lens and wiring issues.

Why didn't you just upgrade to the forester fogs which are glass? same price if not cheaper than most other 3rd party set ups for the twins

I would look into another glass housing but i would have to buy h11 nokya bulbs too. if i just buy the nokya psx24w bulbs, i won't have to bother upgrading the lenses. |
The bulbs should be fine and won't melt the factory lenses. I currently have them in my brz

Who needs yellow fogs when you can just go all out and rock yellow headlights like me.

this might seem like a dumb question but would it be the H11 or H16 for the BRZ because I thought I saw another post saying the foglight might be different size between FRS and BRZ
Thanks |

The only modification with the nokya h11 is you have to shave off the tabs.

Most Nokia runs on 55 watts. You might (or be on the safe side) need a ceramic harness which u can buy on amazon for $12.00. Those will handle high heat.
