aftermarket oil cooler, pressure issues?
So I've been trying to find a post about oil pressure issues regarding aftermarket oil coolers (not the forrester XT one). Has anyone here have first hand experience in this matter?
I am FI, and needing an oil cooler badly. After reading a SC'd 86 on the track with the Forrester OEM oil cooler seeing 240F spikes, I think my turbo car will be hotter, so going the air cooled oil cooler direction. My only concern was oil pressure issues I've read about, even without a oil cooler on the track with high G corners (also fuel issues), will this have negative effect on the street/occasional auto-X/over steer correction parking lot sessions? I already have a Tomioka Oil cooler that needs to be installed. A few hard pulls on the street, my oil is peaking at 235F without a oil cooler. Front mount turbo set up, my coolant is below 212F, and mostly in the 190F range on the free way. I'm surprised the OEM radiator is holding up. |
