Ok, before I start, I know they are cheap, and crappy springs... I got them for $100 so until i decide what coilovers I want, these will have to do. But I have a question, a buddy and I installed them today and the only thing that caught me off guard was that the rear spring was so much shorter then the original that when we put the strut back together the rear springs didn't have any weight on them until the car was lowered... is that normal? Like if the whole strut assembly is out of the car, and the strut nut is all the way tight, the spring still moves around freely. We did our best to make sure they were lined up right as we lowered the car off the stands, but is there any real way to no if they seated in there right? Cant really see down there? thanks for the help.

Sounds weird to me, but I'm not sure. Does the drop look as it should? It sounds like the strut will be compressed too much all the time, and possibly hitting the bump stops over bumps.

The Eibach ProKit rests compressed against the top mount and strut spring mount plate on front and rear, and it's hardly a 1" drop.

This doesn't really affect the final drop on it's own, it just means the free length on them is too short. As long as you got them lined up right when you set the car down you should be ok unless they fully unload over a dip in the road and don't settle back down correctly.

This is why most lowering springs have a couple dead coils on them, just to take up space until there is weight on the car.

The sportlines are almost free as well.

My swift springs didn't need a spring compressor (or even more than slight pressure from one hand) to get them seated enough to get the top nut on, but once the nut is torqued down the spring isn't moving without a lot more rotational force than it will ever see on the car.

Yeah see and that was the difference with these ones with the top nut installed there was atleast an inch of room... After having them on for a few days im sure all is fine. They ride a little stiff of course but that is to be expected for $100. Overall im happy with them for now... Till i find the coilovers i want
