Ramps for low cars

Not a real step by step how-to, but I made a set of ramps for my BRZ, that you may want to try yourself.

For this set, I used 2 8ft long 2x10's, and angle cut the ends. The bottom board is extra long, because I plan to lower the car, and want to be able to get up on the first step, with the front fascia clearing the upper step. I have another set, that is just the top two steps.

I did the same thing for my dad's car a few years back. It works really well plus it's super cheap and easy to make! Did you put a small strip on the top(like a final backstop piece) to keep you from rolling off the back?

No, but I do have the small wedge left from one of the miter cuts, that I may add...not sure it's enough though. It's definitely something I should have done in retrospect.

I've been contemplating doing this to install an exhaust. Do you think theres enough room to slide under there and take the stock exhaust off and then fit a new one on?

Haha nice!

I did the same thing. Couldn't use the rhino ramps that Autozone carries so I had to make some. Pretty much did the same thing you did except I did not do the angle cuts.

Nice!

Love how the color of the stock rims look in your last pic. Wish the stock rims came with options as far as colors :(

Axle back for sure, cat back maybe. Depends on if you're lowered, and how skinny/claustrophobic you might be. You can always put one end up on ramps, and the other on jack stands, just be sure to block the wheels good.

I'm considering using these as ramps. I use them when leveling my camping trailer; which is 7500 lbs. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Camco-44505-Leveling-Blocks-pack/dp/B00480BWCI/ref=pd_bxgy_auto_img_y"]Amazon.com: Camco 44505 Leveling Blocks - 10 pack: Automotive[/ame]

I haven't purchased these yet, but they also have wheel chocks that attach. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Camco-44401-Leveling-Block-Wheel/dp/B007H2TF4Q/ref=pd_sbs_auto_5?ie=UTF8&refRID=1D3RABDE506A0TTCB 41R"]Amazon.com: Camco 44401 Leveling Block Wheel Chock - Pack of 2: Automotive[/ame]

I did an axle back swap with a setup like this, and I'm not small. I also utilized the slight downhill slope of my driveway, parking at the edge of the garage right before it went down. Easy.

Haha, I've been wanting to build these. A lot cleaner than the one I threw together for an alignment. I plan on building a better one sooner or later though.
