Aeromotive 325 fuel pumps

Has anyone tried one of Aeromotive's new drop in pumps for the frs/brz?

http://aeromotiveinc.com/2014/02/ste...s-the-streets/

I've searched but the only other relevant thread talked about the 340 pump.
From previous experience, these Aeromotives generally draw higher current, so its recommended to run a relay wiring kit, is that the case with our cars?

For anyone that has this pump, were there any additional components that needed to be purchased separately? (ie. filter sock, wiring harness, etc)

I personally know enough horror stories with Aeromotive pumps to advise you to skip it and go with the @FullBlown Walbro 485 in tank drop in pump kit.

^ this. Full Blown 485 setup is bad ass. no need to look anywhere else.

I recently had a full blown pump die on my daily driver in the middle of the highway, not a good experience.

My other choice was Deatchswerks. Were the horror storied related to the stealth series intank pumps or their inline pumps?

The FBM Walbro pump kit is not a FBM branded pump, its a Walbro branded pump. Walbro is #1 most reliable pump.

The horror stories are personally with my friends car that received 3 back to back to back warrantied pumps dead on arrival after warrantying the one he had who took a shit less than 500 miles in....

A lot of people are running the DW pump without major issues, but that one also has a history of randomly taking shits... I know for a fact the Aeromotive/ DW pumps come directly from China. Walbro is made in USA and the 485 is specifically made to be compatible with E85.

The new FullBlown 485 is great and it works consistently without any hiccups. Dropped in and the new hardware fits spot on. Can finally turn up the boost without fear of leaning out!

did you get return or returnless?

Sportsguy83 05-02-2014 04:38 PM

I got the returnless, @jamesm got returnless too nd I believe TG got returnless too. In general, return is needed when you are going for really big HP and also if you want a surge tank to take corners at the track at 100+ mph.

thanks. I guess this will be my next purchase. That + injectors = fun boost times for me lol.

returnless as well. When the car goes full track build i will upgrade. Still need lots of practice before that happens. Cool part is it can be upgraded.

that's what sold me... the easy upgrade to returnless with the rising rate fpr. it's a future-proof system.

wrong :). 35r isn't future proof unless you have a v160 and full blown's conversion kit sitting in your garage lol.
