from the bay area..is this a great price on the auto?
or i can get lower. on edmunds or truecar, true market price is around 29k

Mine was just shy of 29 OTD. Manual, Limited, Chrome bullshit and OEM diffuser.

The best negotiating tool you can possibly have is for multiple dealers to work against each other.

I got quoted from three different dealers around my area and forced a bid for my money by showing them the prices from others

my otd for premium manual was 26.6

I got mine from Heuberger Motors in Colorado Springs. I was living in North Carolina at the time. I purchased it back in November of 2013. I got a 2014 Limited, 6 speed with the auto-dimming mirror and the chrome fender inserts. $27,400 OTD. I flew out there, they picked me up from the airport, and I drove it back. I made visited a few people on the way back, totally worth it!

I'm from the Bay Area and that's not too terrible considering that when I was shopping all the BRZ's had $5000+ markups. My FRS came in at about $28k out the door last year.

Probably the only way you could do better would be out of state to someone motivated to move the car or to find one sitting on the lot someone wants to get rid of outside the Bay Area (Santa Cruz, Sacramento, Chico, Lodi etc.).

Not sure what Clint at Heuburger is selling 'em for but that's probably going to be one of the best offers you can get on a brand new one without screwing around, bear in mind that you would have to have the car shipped or fly in to drive it back so add that cost in. You could also try other states like Oregon, Nevada, Utah but that's a bit more legwork.

Comparing OTD prices is pointless due to variations in tax rates, dealer fees, etc.

I just picked up a BRZ premium 6MT for 2k under MSRP. Sales are slow right now.

In Socal, most dealers are selling limited manual for just under $26K and that's an e-mail quoted price. So you actually might be able to get it down even more.

Sale are slow in socal as well. I've seen same BRZ sitting at the lot for just about a year now. Probably the best time to buy a car with 0% interest. But in a larger picture, economy is not getting better, if not worse. So is it a good time to buy?

I would say it's a okay price.... depends on where you are.

My FRS 10 Series was 27,930 (Advertised Price), MSRP was like 29,430...OTD was like 30800 something.... but i'm in CA where the tax bracket is like 9% :sigh:

I definitely overpaid for mine but it's a rare car in East Texas so I didn't have much choice. Paid about $29k including TT&L and after trading in a car worth $5k. Subaru Premium, not even Limited, MT.

If you find the right car (your options, 3 months+ at dealer) they can be had really low.

My 10 Series had been at the dealer for 6 months. MSRP $28,500, paid $24,500.

So you paid 34k for a premium BRZ? Dude... you got ripped. That car is worth about 24k as soon as you drove it off the lot. I paid 35k for a 2015 Sti, which will keep it's value much more.

Limited SWP Manual BRZ was around 29.6k on Capitol.
