Buying an EcuTek license for a used cable
 

Which vendors can you purchase Racerom AND a new license for EcuTek? I'm not referring to the pro-kit, this is for a used cable. I emailed EcuTek and they do not sell to the end user.

Really?? An Ecutek license is not something you are at risk by any stretch of the imagination. Moreso, him being banned does not mean he is a convict or something..... he still works on the car and has helped out on different situations even when not required or needed.


I actually bought a license through him, using his site, a week ago to flash a friend's ECU with my cable.

ok good to know. And you can't blame me for asking after reading about other shady vendors that actually did steal peoples' money.

No problem, it's true it's better to be safe then sorry so yes, you are definitely entitled to ask.


I forgot to mention, what tuner initially sold the cable? There are some cables that the original tuner is the only one that can sell you a license unless you email ecutek with the dongle ID and tell then you want to transfer that cable to your vendor of preference.

perrin was the original vendor. I already switched dongle ID and and now I'm in the process of getting the license. thanks for the response.
