creases at the top of the door

ok, i've searched everywhere for this w/o luck.
on my ds door, at the top of the door (above the glass) there appears to be 4 almost equally spaced creases/dents. they are nearly vertical and about 2" tall, spaced about 6" apart (haven't done any accurate measurements at this point). there is no paint damage at all or signs that something hit it. i was wondering if there some pinch welds up there or something like that failing. anyone else have something like this or have any ideas, other than some external cause? thanks

I also have what looks like a factory flaw in this area above the door handle.
Bugs the Hell out of me because the rest of the car is glass smooth.

Are you talking about the pillars?

I have three dents on my passenger side that I found 2 weeks after having the car.

I have a dent in that same location on the top of the door. Looks like a pressure ding, but I haven't put any pressure on it.

wasn't able to get any good pics of them. they are just above the door glass, basically the door side of the drip rail. thinking it might be where the roof skin is welded to the structure, but not sure. i was hoping someone could point me in the direction of diagram/exploded view of that area. they can only be seen when looking down the side of the car, so not a huge deal. still annoying though.

going by that pic, starting at the upper driver side corner where the windsheild meets the roof, there are 3 pairs of holes going front to back. the creases/deformations i'm seeing are (from front to back) essentially where the 2nd hole is, then where the pillar meets the roof, and then last hole. hope that makes sense. if i knew how to circle the exact areas i would do that to make it easier.

Not specifically that area, but this might help.

Well, now, kinda5150 ...... are you SURE you have never "hit" that area with something .... ??

The skin on these cars can almost be dented by pushing on it with your thumb.

For example, I was trying to lift a full rubbermaid trash can, up and along my car to put the trash out. I didn't get it lifted quite high enough and felt it "touch" the side of my car.

When I went back to see if it left a "mark" .... I noticed it left a small "dent" ..... :mad0260:

The moral of the story (in addition to the fact that these cars dent easily) is that when you get old ...... DON'T OVERESTIMATE YOUR STRENGTH. ..... you ain't 18 no more .....

I've seen these pop up with extreme chassis flexing, but it's usually on both sides, including the roof. (Not on the FR-S though)
A good example I've seen is when a friend of mine took his car on some gravel back roads and hit some dips pretty hard.
Other situations could be potholes or pulling into raised parking lots too fast. There are a lot of scenarios that can cause enough flex to cause stress/flex dents/ripples.

First of all...PUT A SHIRT ON.

Second...I don't have those creases either.
