New 2014 WRB BRZ

Hey everyone just wanted to stop in and say what's up. Traded in my 2005 wrx wagon last Saturday for a WRB BRZ, and I couldn't be happier. I told my self last Saturday that I wasn't going to put any money into the car for a year. 2 days later and I have a fill lip kit rear duck tail and exhaust coming for the car. I also have conversion spacers coming in hopes of running the VFKF's I had on my 240sx on the car. Looking into coil over options as well. Oh well things never change hahah.

Here she is in all her glory.

Welcome. You are not the only one who bought a BRZ with strict intentions not to mod...I have zero will power in that area.

Your best bet of keeping away from the mod bug would be to just stay off the forums. I would've saved thousands if I never joined.

Or don't buy a tuner car.

Before I bought the BRZ, i told my self I would buy a performance vehicle and leave it at that.

But for the price tag, nothing feels like the BRZ. So I bought it and with the money I was going to put down on a 60K car, i just bought mods.

This is a tuner car that is quite fun in stock form, though.

I've found the best way to control the mod bug is to just keep driving the car. The more I drive it, the more items I'm crossing off the mod list, or choosing far less expensive items, as I'm finding that overall I love the base premise of the car and just want to improve or straighten up a few things.

So, doubt I'll really be going coilovers anytime soon. Doubt I'll lower it, and thus don't need LCAs to alter rear camber. Camber bolts up front are all I really "need" if I up the power level significantly and go to wider wheels to add grip with better tires. FI is going to wait a while. I'm going to just do pads instead of BBK, etc.

I'll save thousands over what I'd originally thought I'd spend modding. And as I keep driving the more reason I see to delay certain mods for a while longer.

She satisfies quite well as-is.

Oh believe me I had full intentions of modding the car after a while, but things just came about the way they did that it's happening earlier. Don't get me wrong I love the car as it is in stock form.

Don't forget fluids if you're going to be upping even the suspension. Better brake fluid and pads, and gear 300 in the trans and diff. Going now will be better in the long run if you're going to run her hard from the get-go.

Thinking about using Motul fluids in the car after a while.

Guess it is time for an update. Somethings have changed but not much. So I will start where I left off which was waiting for my redlinegoods stuff to come in.

With this stuff changed most of it to alcantara with blue stitching except for the armrests which remained leather with blue stitching.

After that I mostly just drove to and from work. Been working a lot lately. Finally got a few weekends off. Went to the beach and then to the 4Udrew car show.

Few more weeks went by and I had the chance to take another trip. This time to the east coast 86fest in Virgina. While I was there I was able to hook myself up with a few arts I have been wanting for a while. These would be the Driveway Labs rear diffuser and side skirts. I also managed to get a set of JDM tom's tail lights for a discounted price.

Really love the quality one the Driveway labs stuff. Fitment is spot on using OEM mounting points for the diffuser and easy installation for both parts.

About two weeks ago I came across a different roof spoiler that I liked. It was cheaper then the beatsonic one I had, and personally I like the look of it better.

Aside from that the car got its first oil change finally. Surprised I managed to put 3000+ miles on the car already, but more surprised it took as long as it did lol. Miles from here on out however are going to creep up since I recently acquired a winter beater in the for of an SVX.
