BRZ Bluetooth phone keeps disconnecting
I hope this is the correct place to post this kind of topic, I also Googled this but didn't find any actual "fix"
Here are some information about my phone and my car. I have a 2014 BRZ Limited, but I don't think it really matters much mainly because I don't think they changed anything on the 2013-2014 models. I have an HTC One (M7) Sprint and it's rooted and I did flash my room to 4.4.2 Kit kat. So I was wondering if there are other android phone users having the same issues with disconnecting bluetooth when listening to music. Again, I apologize if there was already a thread about this with the fix. |
I have a nexus 5 and get random disconnects on Bluetooth phone calls. It worked perfect for like 3 months and just started randomly the last month.

Mine has randomly disconnected since I got the car. Doesn't happen very often, but it does happen... and it doesn't seem to be related to any particular factor. Galaxy S3 until November when my contract is up.

I had a problem like this with my Galaxy S4. Solution for me was to resync it and selecting NOT to sync messages (if that doesn't work, also opt out of syncing contacts)

I have an HTC One S (2012 phone). I have to toggle bluetooth on/off every time I start the car otherwise I'll get this terrible stuttering playback. Also if I touch the top sides of the phone the bluetooth signal will cut out, that's probably where the antenna is. This all sucks, but it works great otherwise.

I actually tried that fix that @Superhatch posted up and it actually I think it works because my HTC One (M7) hasn't been disconnecting ever since!
|
I've had a sprint note 3 rooted and sprint note 2 not rooted that have had the same issue. I'll give that tip superhatch recommended and reply back if it works for me.

I fixed mine. Here is how I did it -
First - I think it had to do with allowing the BRZ to access my contacts and messages. I believe this to be the root of the issue. How to fix: With the car off or nowhere near: Delete the pairing on the phone. Make sure to power off your phone completely and restart it to make sure the pairing is gone. Turn the phone back off. Go to the car. Turn it on and get rid of the device from the nav unit. Turn off the power on the car. Turn back on the car power and check to make sure it is gone. Now - relink the device to the vehicle and make sure to NOT allow syncing the contacts/messages. This worked for me. Good luck! |
It could well be your ROM. I had the exact same issue on my Sprint HTC One when I was using a Cyanogenmod 11 nightly derivative. Eventually after flashing CM11 nightlies, the issue went away. The community just released a CM11 snapshot yesterday for m7spr - not quite as stable as a "Stable" but mine seems pretty good so far (I just flashed it this morning). [Link].
BTW, you have good taste in cars and phones :-) |

I was thinking about this this morning and in retrospect I think I actually had the issue when I flashed a rooted stock KitKat Sense - could be the same one you used. I'd definitely recommend CM11, much quicker and slicker than sense.

I also have an HTC One M7. Verizon. I have done quite a bit of research on the issue as well. The problem is 4.4.2. Many phones have had the issue and the One is one of the phones that's still waiting for a fix. I found a bulletin somewhere that said the M7 and M8 would have 4.4.3 available sometime in May to fix the Bluetooth and battery issues that a lot of users are still experiencing. I'll try to find the website again.
My phone was working perfectly fine through bluetooth from when I bought the car in october all the way until I updated my phone in February. Ever since then I have the reconnect issue where it will reconnect itself ever 3-5 minutes. Edit: Here is one of the links. There are several others too. http://www.gottabemobile.com/2014/05...rumor-roundup/ |
