Will 362mm Brake Disks fit ?
 

I'm curious to see if anyone knows whether or not 362mm sized brake disks will fit inside 18 inch rims?

Any help much appreciated.

Is the size from a kit or custom? That's a pretty meaty size. What wheels are you planning to run and what calipers?

It's more important to find out if the caliper will fit first...

Here is a picture of mine with a 350mm disc. There is plenty of room for the extra 12mm dia, but I am not sure about the clearance for the caliper to move out by 6mm.

I am out of the country at the moment, but can take some measurements for you on the weekend, if you would like.

355mm rotors need a minimum of 18" wheels. 380mm rotors need a minimum of 19" wheels.

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I've been offered an AP brake set up consisting of 362mm disks and 6 pot calipers - the kit was intended for a 2010 STi Impreza which runs on 18 inch alloys so i'm confident it'll fit just wanted to double check 1st. Tbh it's overkill but it's working out about a third cheaper than me buying the 330mm AP kit.

Dave - your car is looking so good. Now you've made it faster, corner better and stop on it's nose you'll have to sell up and get something else. Just give me 1st refusal mate ;)

362mm brakes are TOO MUCH, way too much for an FT86....unless you just want to look cool.....

I have driven Jessies 355mm brembo supercharged Ft86 and his brakes are bordering on too much....Never thought I would say too much brakes coming from a racing background, but his car is silly powerful brakes on STREET tires...I can't imagine what it would do on real slicks.... Honestly I never did figure out his brakes in a full session driving the car... Compared to my bone stock "scary" brakes

The only difference between the 355mm brakes and these will be their ever so slightly greater ability to dissipate heat.

Define how going to this size is "too much"? how is having a firmer middle pedal for longer a bad thing?

I don't do anything to my car to look cool other than drive it.

I'm wondering if you're running enough tire to absorb the brake torque that system produces. That's the only way I see that you could have more brake than you can use.

A 362mm disc is extremely tight inside an 18" wheel. We sell an AP Racing six piston/362mm disc setup for Corvettes. You can see it here. We also have a wheel fitment template, so you can stick that inside your wheel to give you a ballpark on how close to the barrel of the wheel it will be. Keep in mind that the offsets, etc. are all going to be different vs. your car. It's more of a general guide as to the overall footprint of the parts vs. the wheel barrel. Hopefully that helps.
