Just received my Beat-Sonic FR-S Antenna!!
They need to work on the shipping, hope my accessory isn't beaten and mangled in there!
http://i48.tinypic.com/2ild7qr.jpg Good thing they bubble-wrapped it! http://i50.tinypic.com/11uybd4.jpg Easy instructions on the back, I like! Now I just have to learn Japanese and I'm set! http://i47.tinypic.com/24bjjw9.jpg Some other pics: http://i45.tinypic.com/2eb50sx.jpg http://i46.tinypic.com/2l9ht.jpg Size comparison http://i45.tinypic.com/15clcb9.jpg |

All it says is don't pull too hard on the big white fin thing or the spring thing will dislodge and find a new home in your left eye...:confused0068:
I don't honestly know what it says, but it looks great! |
I have one on mine. It's simple. You unscrew the FRS antenna, then put the coiled wire end with loop into the threaded hole and secure it with the supplied bolt. And carefully clean the roof surface with alcohol to ensure good adhesion of the tape.
Dry fit (test mount) the antenna to check for any clearance issue and to get it perfectly aligned. (helps to have another person with a sharp eye here, and while he stands in the front of the car, lift the trunk lit open, and you can stand on the trunk floor. At this point, trunk emblem and hood emblem can be seen from the person standing in front of the car, and he can help you align it perfectly straight in relation to the two emblems. When its all nice and straight, get a Sharpie permanent marker and trace the outside of the rubber foot of the antenna, directly on the roof so you have a reference. Now it helps if you have a hair dryer or heat gun handy to warm up the surface of the roof and adhesive tape to the point where its pretty hot (without melting the paint though!) and securely mount to the roof using the reference you drew up on the roof. Wait till its cooler and well mounted then take the alcohol and q-tip, and erase the marks you made on the roof. SIMPLE huh? :D |
It goes very well with the Five Axis rear deck spoiler I just got too. :D
|
If you clean the surface with the 3m adhesion promoter wipe, and get it warm, the chances are you will peel the paint off trying to remove it ;) so make sure you align it properly, because once the tape touched the adhesion promoter, game over :p

I want to do this when I get mine, but you guys are making me nervous!

Troy gave me the first production rear spoiler color keyed to my FRS, at the FRS Party at Penske Toyota, I put together where I took delivery 2 weeks ago, and in return for some favors I did for FiveAD a few days prior. Just some random series of events that I lucked out with Five AD being so kind to me, long story. |
