AUX in BRZ's Pioneer HU ?

Hey guys, an issue I had since I got my car... I had to get an old iPod to put my beat on since I don't like bluetooth'ing over with my Galaxy S4, but is there a way to plug an AUX in the Avic stock HU ? I tried once to plug an iphone 5 with the stock 2 plugs cable (that seem to be already broken since music switches from speaker to speaker on bumps) but I couldn't get it to work; didn't recognize anything. So I then tried with simply an AUX, but then again, wire everything and no signal... any clue ?

While we're at it, why is the damn plug in the glovebox and not using thr slot made for it on the dash next to the shiftet ? What did you guys put there..?

And any way to retrofit the hanging microphone to a more OEM look using US' microphone that sit next to the dome light on the headliner ?

Sorry for the multiples question :(

My BRZ came with an iPod connector for the Pioneer HU in the glove box. The cable converts USB and aux to the old Apple iPod connector. I also think there's an AUX setting in the HU.

You can buy USB/Aux Mini jack plug for a 2014 from the dealer, then splice it into your Pioneer USB cable (you can get the same cable from Kenwood at Future Shop).

You can connect anything to the AUX via a 1/8" audio cable. There's a setting in the head unit that you need to change - do a search, it's here somewhere, as I looked it up a few weeks back. Basically you need to change the setting for AV1 or something like that.

Looking for a solution too.

I don't understand why the usb for the canadian brz is in the glove box. Who was the genius that decided on that. I spent like a good 30 minutes trying to ply out the little tab when I first got my brz.

Basically you have a JDM setup as that is the same in Japan (down to the mic clipped onto the front of the headliner). I would gladly trade you since I prefer my iPod to be sitting in the glovebox instead, but the harness and mic are totally different with 2014, hence I can't even swap headunits with a 2013 sigh!

Do you mean that the 2014 Canadian BRZ's now no longer have the clip mic?
