Good shop for Work Tune/Dyno

Hey all,

Just picked up my BRZ last week! I am new to the BRZ ownership (switched from impreza) and relatively new to the Bay Area.

Was wondering what is near by for shops to get a Tune and maybe some Dyno time once the mods start showing up. I'd like a reputable shop that is not excessively over the top with the $$$.

looking for shop names and locations and any other info that would help.

Thanks Guys

My go-to places for work on my Subaru is GST Motorsports, RBMS Autocare, and LIC Motorsports.

LIC Motorsports is in Novato. The other two are in Hayward.

Of these three places, only GST has a dyno.

@darkonion I'm assuming these shops will work on frs as well, right?

Cool Cool. Thanks guys. I commute to Vallejo for work so I'm sure I Drive near some of these places. Going to have to check them out.
@darkonion how much is it for the dyno at GST? Looking at getting a baseline dyno, then one after some intake/exhaust mods.

There's also Milt's Service Garage in Vallejo. Not a Subaru specific shop. I believe that work on a ton of stuff. I autocross with one of the guys there. I believe that he owns that shop and two others and they are ALL busy.

As for the dyno, no clue about the cost of the dyno. It is an AWD chassis dyno. Best to just call and ask.

GST Motorsports Tel: 510.264.9049

It's the same car... so yes.

LIC Motorsports is a Subaru specific shop, but yeah... they'll probably work on the FRS. It's a Subaru drive train with Toyota badged panels on it, right? Their shop is a PITA to get to, but it is certainly worth the trip. If you are ever interested, tell 'em darkonion sent you.

RBMS in Hayward, they pretty much work on anything. There are Subaru's, Evo's, Toyota's... etc... Mert spent the last decade working on performance Subaru's. Before that, he's has pretty much wrenched on anything that had a Toyota badge on it.

Bill from delicious tuning comes to Mann engineering and round two is happening soon. He has proven to be a great tuner for our platfor (the d4s proves a bit of a headache). Bill uses ECUTek. If you want to go OpenFlash contact Shiv at Vishnu as he tunes down in Hayward.

LIC has done some work on the twins already (@Sleeperwrx) and are essentially suspension gurus who happen to build engines.

Well, if you want to do the baseline first, we have a dyno day coming up at Mann on May 17. :)
