Some Pre-Delivery Shenanigans we should all be mindful of...
Just got a call from the my salesman/ contact at the dealer I ordered my car from. The dealer failed to tell me for days that they had my VIN and a delivery date and it wasnt until I contacted SOA directly that I received my VIN. Turns out that many of the salespeople at the dealership were already scheduling test drives with my vehicle and were gonna squeeze in as many as possible before they told me my car arrived. I expect many dealers may want to do the same with the first batch of vehicles to eek out some more orders.
Just something to be mindful of I suppose. I am going in Monday to negotiate the final price and handle all this malarcky. Also thought that we should all post up any words of wisdom you can offer to others as the time to take delivery approaches. |

Throw a complete fit in the dealership until they sell it to you at invoice price. That's bullshit.
|
oof...I wonder how they were going to explain to you that your car had 30 miles on it.
That's just plain wrong. I'd definitely have a chat with the general manager regarding this. I'd also report it to SoA. |
If my dealer pulls this heads will roll.

This is exactly why I have little trust for any car dealers. If they want a car so people can test drive it, buy their own damn car with their own money.
And I know dealers are supposed to have a salesman in the car with you, but I have recently test driven several cars solo. And in two of the test drives, the salesman was the one pushing me to drive the car harder... |
Good to know. Thanks for the heads up. And car salesmen wonder why they get a bad rep. SMH

this is why its better to wait a little longer until the dust settles and these cars aren't as hot as they are now.
I can't even believe some dealerships are TELLING their customers that their car will have x amount of miles on it. that is complete bullshit. I will wait until i can get my car with 0-4miles on it (required due to the factory break-in/transportation), and can be assured it will NOT be molested by any stealership personnel. I have never purchased a brand-new car with more than 4 miles on it and never will as that is a clear sign of brand-new car rape. Sorry but hearing stuff like this really makes my blood boil... This isn't some $300 sofa we're talking about, its a brand fucking new sports car:mad0259: and a BIG +1 For not paying a cent more than invoice, if they won't agree, take your business elsewhere. You worked hard for that car, don't settle for their BS |
Yet another reason we should be able to buy cars directly from the manufacturer. I really don't need someone to peel the plastic wrap off my car for me.
|
I am just picturing some douchebag doing something like this with a car that has already been purchased:

Lmao @ the lambo vid & the ruberneckers taking the video; I know there was no traffic & it's for our entertainment, just sayin =P

I would tell them to give you demo pricing on the car (like 3k off invoice at least), and they should be added to the dealer blacklist. Crap like this makes my blood boil as well. I dunno how you're so calm. I would have gone nuclear if I found that out about my dealership.
