So I've been considering these for my Crystal Black Silica BRZ, in black.

I'll be honest, here.. I don't really know much about cars. I never cared about wheels or boost or suspension or anything, until I laid my eyes on the 86 Twins when they were announced. So I'm 24 (almost) and just now starting to learn what I can. Because I don't want to mess anything up, I'm beginning my journey with easy mods. Trims, interior additions, etc. Nothing big or expensive. And wheels.

With that said, I have a friend who has taught me quite a bit but I'd like some more opinions (and if you're willing, advice) about finding good wheels.

I know I should be looking for a +35mm offset. I'm going to go with 18" wheels. I really love the look of wider rear wheels and front wheels that are wide, but not as much and not so wide that I can't turn properly (obviously).

First question, how do you guys feel about these? I love them and will probably be getting them. This question's more about curiosity.

Secondly, would 18x10.5 or even 18x11/11.5 be too wide for the rear? Would that cause any sort of performance problems? What's the widest I should go, with front and rear?

Third, I plan on lowering the car quite a bit. Definitely not slamming it, and won't do any cambering for now until I've learned more about how it all works. So far, coilovers seem to be what I'm looking for. If I plan on lowering it, would I have to change up what size wheels I have, and would the limits on width change?

im not sure if they make the pf01 in 18x11 in our bolt pattern but i could be wrong and if you lower the car it will naturally add camber which you would typically want to adjust to reduce extreme tire wear.

I wouldn't imagine you would need to go wider than 9.5 unless it's a personal preference or you are making some serious power(450+ whp). Also once you go lower offsets will be diff if u want to be flush. I'm waiting to go coilovers first then wheels so I know I have the right offset once I'm at my permanent ride height. Spacers are always an option tho if u want wheels first and need more poke. I love the wheels but imo on a black car gold or bronze is just pure sex. Black on black isn't bad just really common for my taste. I like contrast. As far as performance goes wider means more grip but also more weight so the impact they will have depends heavily on the car's use autox, track, dd etc. Hope this will help. Thanks very much sir, very helpful. I agree with the contrast idea, I just can't find a color I like enough to slap on there. I was thinking white, but if I did white wheels the perfectionist in me would force me to paint my vortex generator white, then my fender trim, then my spoiler, and so on.

I knew a guy that had an S2k with extremely wide wheels, like at least an inch past the frame. I thought it looked amazing. I'm eventually getting the Rocket Bunny kit, so I know I'll need wider ones eventually anyway and I'm not the type of person that can save $6k to buy a whole bunch of things at once (as soon as I have money, I can't stop myself from buying at least a few parts) so yeah.

I just installed a set of these on my car a couple weeks ago, 17x7.5, +38 on stock suspension. This setup saves about 3 lbs per wheel and the fitment comes much closer to flush than the OEM wheels:

My goals were to get some wider tires, save some wheel weight and use my car as a daily driver with light track and autocross use.

I can't say enough good things about these wheels...they look much better in person than the tirerack photos.

For you, if you are going to go the coilover route, I would suggest saving your money and getting those first. Then you can buy wheels that will fit your suspension setup. If you only want a mild drop (approximately an inch) you could consider installing springs with your stock struts...that will save you a ton a money, but you loose the adjust ability of a coilover and in cases you can run a wider wheel and tire with coilovers.
