I've had the stage two, 3 puck for two years now. Put about 10k miles on it. Only drive it in the summer / and do about 3 full track weekends a year.

Looking not too bad, but I will replace it. Likely with the same one.

At first, street drive ability was kind of crap, it was real inconsistent as far as when it would grab, but after a few months that lessened some.

Here are the pics as I just pulled the engine tonight.

That 3 puck looks kind of like 3 brake pads on a disk. It's a bit funny to see :confused0068:

would it say daily driving was better once it was broken in? no lock out issues as mentioned in the previous posts?

Yea i've never had any actual "issues" with it. The worst part was I looked like a guy who didn't know how to drive a manual sometimes with the wild variance of the engagement point lol.

never had lockout, not even once. I do have the classic locked out / grind to 4th if I shift too fast when i'm on the track, but that's not really related to the clutch.

I have that grinding issue when downshifting from 5th to 4th at high rpms

just ordered my exedy stage 2 alongside exedy OEM style flywheel, w/ Verus fork.

Anyone else running exedy clutch still? How's canyons, traffic, free roads?

Gopherboy6956 06-16-2018 02:04 AM

I'm rocking OEM flywheel and versus fork as well.

On my 2nd clutch now. I rebuilt the engine so I figured I better buy a new one, even though when I pulled it the wear wasn't bad at all for 2 years. Probably had at least a year or more left on it. oh well, spare!

Got everything going now, and boy does the first couple hundred miles on this frustrate a guy - same rolling engagement point as the first one - just never really know where it's going to pick up.

It does seem to be a lot more consistent now that i've done a 3 day track event.

Still recommend 100% as I've never had any problems with them.

I mean, they do make the OEM clutch so...

Just got my 3 puck installed.

Well, I'm under 10miles on this clutch-- it sure as heck shudders and does engage at a weird point. The shop I got it installed at said that after the break-in period, it'll normalize. I'm really hoping it will haha. I sure as heck look like I don't know how to drive stick at the moment though-- its very true that it shudders or wants to die when releasing it out slowly at low rpms.

Here's an accurate image of how this clutch engages. The middle is always soup. Just never really changes even after break in, but it does become smoother in the way it makes you look like an noob.

Hahahahahaha. I definitely look like a noob.

This is pretty painful though. I came from the days where you learned how to engage a clutch without using the gas (did valet for 4 years and they really wanted us to not ramp up rpms and ride the clutch). Can't do that anymore, car will shake itself to death :/

Doesn't help that I also have the Exedy lightweight flywheel and now have some crazy driveline vibes in 5th gear deceleration from 4k to 2k and anything around 2k in 6th gear.

I like the stiffness of this clutch though, not as stiff as my Jeep, but I wish it were. I like the leg workout.
