Paddle shifter extension

Any automatic buyers considering extensions for the paddle shifters? I've owned three cars now with paddles, and I've always felt they are two small. My wife's Fit is whe worst, they are tiny.

I've seen lots of aftermarket extensions for other cars. Does anyone know if there are any out yet specifically for the BRZ/FRS?

I didn't even know there were extensions but I'm going to check this out.

No, I wouldn't. Its a small wheel we are talking about.

I was originally going to go with a AT and upgrade the paddles to a works bell setup but honestly after a test drive for the driving ill be doing i do not like the paddles being steering wheel mounted. It makes it to hard to shift in turns where you are really moving the wheel a lot. My future plan..... if funds are available and if i really feel the need to is to convert a Manuel to this mastershift paddle system...http://mastershift.com/new-street-manual.html very cool setup

I'll have to live with it for a while first, but from previous experience I've always found I want the paddles to be a little larger then factory.

I haven't tried the paddles yet on the FRS or BRZ, but what you said is exaclty what I'm thinking. The paddles shouldn't be mounted on the steering wheel. It seems they would never be the right place when I probably need it. :iono:

And I like the Bent Billet paddles that are shown in the mastershift site.

Nissan 370Z have the best paddles ever. They are big and magnesium and look just like a Ferrari 458 paddle.

The paddles is huge and nice feeling. I wish the FRS/BRZ had identical paddles but I still like the FRS/BRZ paddles.

Yeah that mastershift is badass but a custom setup may take $$$ but its common now for drift setups to have worked ATs, so maybe this platform will get some aftermarket AT love! we need to start asking for it in the vender posts!!!! :):happy0180:

I forget the exact setup, but did you see the X-Games Rally edition when Travis Pastrana broke his leg, or hurt his back, or some injury that made it difficult for him to drive standard. Anyway his team came up with the idea to have a controller similar to game consoles. He did decent in the race, but I think he crashed on the last stage, but he did comment that he like it and reminded him of playing a video game.
If we start seeing stuff like that well that would be interesting imo.

Here's a video of what I'm referring to.

I used to be in favor of a shaft mounted paddles, until I got on a closed course. On a race course you hardly ever go lock to lock so it's beneficial that your fingers are always near the paddles. If the paddles were shaft mounted you would have to take your hands off of the crucial 9 and 3 o'clock positions every time you tried to shift. Of course, everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but I was completely in the shaft mounted paddles till I actually got a chance to flog a car. I think it's one of those things where you have to actually try it out before it all sinks in.

agree completely on a road course.... on a auto x course not so much. Im still a big fan of the FRS/brz paddle shifter system, loved having the chance to test drive but diffidently want more room to try them out on the road and not in an auto x circumstance.
