If you want 265's all around, you should've just gotten an evo or sti.

So much grip, so little power, makes for sad sad car.

Borg warner s255 makes Faer a happy boy with 400whp ;)

OjiGeorge 04-22-2014 02:39 AM

I hope you have FI, otherwise those tires will kill the fun factor, and make the car feel more sluggish.

for the record i came from an STi, running 275's. this car is much more fun to drive than the STi EVER was. on track, on the street, auto cross. etc.

yes, its so sad, if only i could have some fun...

had no issues keeping up with 911's/sti's/evo's and passing wasn't an issue either...

in all seriousness, does it make it a bit more sluggish in 1st, 2nd, yeah...but is it boring or any less fun, hell no. the way i drive i never use 1st or second for passing unless its auto-x then yore in second all day long but at that point your'e high in the rev range and i have no issues.

do what you want, but don't listen to people that haven't had this setup tell you otherwise, i love it, wouldn't change a thing. twisty roads is where i have my fun, i couldn't care less about going straight fast.

Keep in mind that different tires will be different widths despite being the same advertised width.

ie a 255 RS3 will be much wider than a 255 all season. You have to look at the actual tread width in the tire specs, not just the advertised measurement.

My 225/45/17 Z2's are more than an inch (25mm) wider than the stock 215/45/17 Primacy's, and my 205/50/17 snows are actually wider than the stock tires but a hair.
