My question, which nut do I use to adjust the height of the light output?

STS-V 07-18-2014 09:58 AM

Why exactly are these not FI friendly?

I figured it out. It's the only 8mm bolt that's back there. Counter clock wise for up and clock wise for down.

My advise do it whole the headlight is off the car. It's a pain while it's on the car

Edit- clock wise for up and counter clock wide for down.

Sorry to bumb this thread, but I installed these earlier and hadn't seen this mentioned in any of the other threads on them. Do these not have Hi/Lo beams? I'll look to see if I see it in any other threads, but figured I'd start here. Thanks!

Yes, there is a high/low beam but it's a bit different than stock.

It's a bi-xenon projector setup. The projector inside has a shield that blocks off light above a certain threshold so you don't blind other drivers. When you turn on your high beam, this shield moves down to let all the light shine out of the projector.

There's much more to it but that's a general description.

DRL like when you put down your e-break and the lights come on? If I remember right, you can't because you take the harness out when you install the new headlights.

Kinda need help with this guys, please bare with me. I got the headlights same time as you all but now i just had the chance to installed it on Wed. Long story short got the HID H1 in and after couple mins of messing with the washer, i got it to fit. The long "rod" was upward and the bulb itself on on the bottom if you know what I mean. The output and coverage was quite disappointing, please check and see. Is that what you guys are getting also?

As you can see since the "rod" is above the actual bulb, there is a reflection of it on the wall and also on the ground. Hard to miss it. Should I go get D2S instead?

How exactly did you fix this? My body shop put these lights on and got the same results.

Are you guys using D2S bulbs? I know with that bulb there is also a D2R that has the rod thing of the bulb in a different spot.
@Diode Dynamics for someone who actually knows lol

D2S is designed for use in OEM projector style housings, D2R is designed for reflector style applications.

Those output shots with the keyholes look like OP is running an H11 in an H11B housing or H11B in H11 housing etc etc

That keyhole is caused by the position of the leadwire on the HID bulb.
