Hello,

Looking to get my first oil change for my BRZ. Which subaru dealership in the GTA do you recommend getting my first oil change done?? How much does an oil change usually cost?? Closes dealership to me is markham and/or scarborough subaru but i've read some pretty bad reviews from both. Anyone have experience with downtown subaru / willowdale??

Thanks

Don't go to dealer. Go to iGarage. I've been to Markham subaru and Willowdale. Markham Subaru is expensive if you want them to use Motul oil. Willowdale... haha, Willowdale subaru, i went there once, the guy who changed my oil can't even read my odometer properly how can i trust them to not make mistakes working on my car. Willowdale subaru also put the wrong oil filter on my car. They put the blue filter. Correct one should be black.

iGarage is pretty good, but the correct filter should be black, not blue.

Sorry noob question but why is one oil better than the other?? I heard motul / mobil 1 is best. First time hearing about eneos.

I would use motul 1 but because a good friend of mine rep for eneos, I got discounts. Another reason would be they are huge in japan and has a massive reputation there. 0w20 sustina is the best engine oil IMO.

Also I changed my tranny and rear gear oils with eneos, apparently I have the smoothiest frs from my AWD gang. 10/10 would recommend because I have a quiet and easy time shifting.

Blue is not wrong per se, just cheaper than black (made in Japan by Tokyo Roki). Just buy your own oil and change it yourself. This car is ridiculously easy to change the oil on. With my fumoto valve, it's literally a 10min job, with the majority of those minutes taken up by waiting for oil to drain and refilling.

On the subject of oils, I think Motul is overkill if you're not pushing the car hard on the track.

Test data rules all here. Read some of the threads over at bobistheoilguy.com and see how some of the independent test results report back on well known oil brands.

Dealer oil changes for toyotas are dirt cheap. I think it's around $60-70 max for the FR-S. Use up all your freebies and then do them yourself.

I get my 0w20 Eneos from eBay, it's local pick-up (at UPS store), just have to buy it off eBay. Just noticed that they raised the price though... about $40/4qt now, my first batch I got it around $30/4qt @ $126.48 for 16qt..... :(

Here is the link if you are interested and nearby the pickup zones,
http://stores.ebay.ca/GoodWinWin-com...sid=1105464484

Edit :: forgot it's 3788ml -> 4qts, Just a little bit cheaper than BRZ World, comes to be about $9.88/qt

Lol wtf.... I messaged him and he ends up raising the price and says supplier raised the price and thanks for the support from beginning so he'll give me $12 discount...

I was under the impression that all oil and services up to 24k were complimentary on Subaru vehicles purchased new? More so, that it is full syn for the BRZ?

I am sure that this isn't an add on that I bought, is this only for Subaru of America?

Dealership charges about $60 tax in for oil change where I live.

Although I just buy oem parts and change it myself. Parts are cheap.

I got my first one at the dealer but only because I was there for them to install the limited wing on my premium. I know on most cars the factory oil filter is on there pretty tight and might have difficulty getting it out. Shouldn't be a problem with this car though considering the filter placement you have infinity options to get a stuck one off.

Subsequently I have installed a fumoto valve and do it myself with Purolator PureOne filters.
