Wheel Repair near SJ?
 

Anybody know of a decent wheel repair shop near San Jose or someone who can fix bends?

Not really trying to spend more than $100 cause at that price point It'd just make more sense to replace. It could be that its just beyond repair too. Not too sure though.

I took metal shop in HS. Almost want to just heat and pound the damn thing.

I operate a wheel repair company and I can say there is about a 60-70% chance it will crack. At our shop we straighten wheels for around $110. Pricing is different of course anywhere you go. We don't charge you if the wheel cracks so make sure they don't either.

I called them this morning. Dude who answered was super helpful. Only thing is, minimum charge of $129 to repair, that's if it can be repaired.

So would most ppl agree that this is most likely beyond repair? Any other recommendations?

Yeah if $129 is too much, then just replace the wheel (assuming you can find a replacement). Id say generally the repair cost is only worth it if you have a rare or expensive wheel. Throw a piece of glass on that rim and make it a nice coffee table.

See if they will attempt to repair it at no fee. We don't charge anyone if it cracks. You know what the cost of a replacement is? Just do the comparison.

I can tell you there isn't a huge integrity loss if the repair can be completed. It's just about making sure you get the wheel hot enough before you put it on a wheel straightener.

They're in San Leandro and was recommended to me when my one of the BBS rims I bought used was not straight. Instead of shaving away the material, they straighten the entire wheel out on their machine. I think it only costed me < $100 with tire unmount/mount.
