hood clearance
 

Ok, so while this isn't exactly a purist idea, Just how much clearance do we have under the hood to the top of the engine?

Reason I ask, is, if we had enough room, would we be able to install a hood mounted intercooler (a la WRX) to aid with turbo piping? I mean, yes I know you'd need to have a custom hood created for it, but if you were going to get an aftermarket carbon fiber hood anyway, would it even make sense? or does the current intake systems work better than whatever this would produce?
