I had a really good time taking photos of the event today. Thank you to Finch, Plato, all of the vendors, and everyone else who made today possible. I was thrilled to see so many cars show up! :drool: :w00t:

I had a great time meeting and greeting everyone at the 86DRIVE/NorCal 86 table as they came through for registration. Unfortunately in between that, a brief chance to go grab some grub, and helping to run the raffle giveaways, I barely had any time to go around and check out all the cars. But from my brief walkthrough and everything I heard from others, there was an amazing collection of cars there today. Some of the guys who haven’t been that active and weren’t able to come out since last summer’s event, were amazed to see just how far some of the cars have come since we saw them last summer. Our community is growing and it’s a great thing to see. But even more encouraging to me, is the quality, enthusiasm and friendliness of the folks I’ve had the pleasure to meet. So many smiles and laughs today, and for me that is what makes these kinds of things worthwhile to be a part of.

Thanks to all the vendors and organizers, it was a great event. @CSG Mike and @CSG David was nice to meet you guys in person, and pick your brains even more :D
Nice to meet everyone else too, and to see the familiar faces. The various GoPro mounts and dollys were interesting. Skateboard and tricycle RC thingy in particular were funny. |
I have to agree with the overwhelming sentiment that it was a resounding success. So many awesome people and beautiful cars. The huge diversity in drivers (young, old, some in the middle, guys, and gals) really speaks to not just the broad appeal of the 86 but to the openness that this group has. Also, everyone is so damn nice and respectful! No, burnouts, no racing or revving, no obnoxious loud music. It may be the old-fart in me but there is a time and a place for everything and this wasn't it. Hats off to everyone :clap:
Giant thanks to the organizers for hosting the event and to the vendors and sponsors! Those were some amazing prizes. There is a ton of work that goes on behind the scenes and I am grateful for the hard work to make it happen. As we grow in size it becomes more and more difficult to find a spot for the event that can hold all of the cars in the same lot. Hopefully, next time we can get all of the cars together. These are all great pictures! It was a great time Sunday. Sorry I had to bail before a second set of Ladderball games! For those who played... ummm.... I had the distance off! It was about 3 feet too far. :bonk: Hahahaha! So you guys played excellently.

Thank you NorCal86 for hosting a great show. It was a pleasure chatting and getting to know everyone. I don't quite remember what happened yesterday but I do know we somehow made it back to southern California without getting pulled or running out of gas. LOL
