I need to redo entire exhaust

I'm currently supercharged with the following: Revworks UEL, Perrin overpipe, Perrin front pipe with cat, Q300. This setup is not working out at all. I think it's still too restrictive and I still can't get rid of the torque dip. Even worse is my car is loud as fuck, which is annoying to anybody over the age of 16 and especially annoying to me if it gets me a referee ticket which = fucked. So beyond putting the stock cat-back back on how can I get my car to be of legal decibel levels and get rid if the torque dip.

not going to lie that setup has to be one of the quietest setups with a header. the Q300 catback is as quiet as stock (within 1or 2 db). is it droning or is it just loud? because that's as far as i know that's setup people are using to be quiet. it's 2.5" all the way so restriction is not an issue at this point. with a turbo it might be, but not a supercharger till your in the mid 300s for whp.

which supercharger? and dyno's to prove the torque dip is still there? a good tune is going to totally eliminate that dip with a supercharger (of any type, especially with a UEL header).

Turbo.

I would not get a catted header with FI..

You say it feels restricted, do you have 3inch components?

YMAA 04-13-2014 04:22 AM

Your exhaust is plenty free-flowing. If you still can't get rid of the torque dip even with a supercharger AND uncatted headers, that's not a problem with restriction.

That's a tuning problem.

ARK test pipe with helmoltz (idk how to spell it) resonator. the TQ dip is the tune.

Removing the only Cat he has left in his exhaust isn't going to make it quieter. Helmholtz resonators does wonders for rasp if its designed properly but its not going to do a thing for volume.

What supercharger, and what tune? Any dyno charts showing the dip still being there?

Might want to check for serious exhaust leaks if your Loud as #u*k. I run the nameless header, nameless catted front / over and Q300... it is certainly louder than stock but the Q300 is one of the quietest catbacks out there for this platform.

as others have said, you probably need a better tune.

Lowering restriction past what you have and keeping it quiet isn't really possible. Packaging limits dictate that the higher flow system will tend to be louder. Also if you bump up to 3" it only gets louder.

And once again everyone ones definition of loud is different.

Damn! Then yeah, add a low mount turbo. I hear those cut exhaust noise a bit :bonk:

On that note, I wonder if anyone has tried a twin charged setup yet.

You must either have a leak or a bad catback (like me) my Q300 drones like a bastard between 2100 and 3000 RPMs, and all I have is a Perrin 3" catted front pipe aside from the cat back... I can start car alarms at low revs from all the bass it has... but in terms of loudness its quiet... just extremely bassy

My buddy has a Vortech SC with catted front pipe, over pipe, borla uel, and invidia q300. I wouldn't say its loud af, its a pretty mild tone.

The torque dip is most likely because of a tune as others have stated.

Pneub 04-13-2014 02:49 PM

The tune and install was done at Evasive Motorsports who have ample experience tuning. It's also been there a half dozen times and they don't seem to think its that loud. And it's not loud at it idle but on WOT you can hear this car a mile away.
