Mishimoto oil catch can install / review
 

Alright, I'm pretty pissed because I typed up a whole review of the @Mishimoto oil catch can and the site timed out and I lost it all. I'm going to do my best to remember what I wrote...

Over the holidays I picked up a MishimotoOil Catch Can, and just recently got around to installing it. I didn't take unboxing photos because I think they're a bit silly, but I do have some photos of my install location because I've had a lot of people asking me how / where I ended up placing the can. To get the obvious out of the way, the cans quality is excellent, not that I'd expect anything less from a brand like Mishimoto. It's important to note that since the can is universal, you're going to need to figure out where and how you want to place the can.

I ended up mounting mine on the cross braces in the engine bay, I ran to home depot and purchased ~$15 worth of supplies and made it all in my garage in about an hour. Purchased about 4ft of this thin metal with holes every inch or so, as well as a C-bolt and some 3/4 inch bolts. I bent the metal into a 7 and then used the mounting bracket supplied by Mishimoto to hang the can from there. I fastened the C-bolt to the cross brace and tightened it down until it bent the 'holy' metal ever so slightly. I then hooked the can up and drove about 200 miles in all conditions to make sure the can wouldn't move / shift / rattle / fall off before I attached all the hoses.

Something to note with the hoses, Mishimoto supplies about 4 feet of clear hose (I nearly used all of it so be sure to measure twice cut once), this hose will fit perfectly onto the intake manifold side of the system, however the block has a little nipple connection, which requires a smaller diameter hose. I took the stock hose and split it revealing a smaller more rigid hose underneath. I cut approximately 4 inches of this out and put it into the Mishimoto hose, using a clamp to ensure it was snug (there was barely any play to begin with). Below is a photo of the split stock hose.

I've only put maybe 1k miles on the system since I hooked everything up, you can already see a bit of oil in the lines so I can only assume there's some build up in the can. I'm going to be doing an oil change in about 2k miles so I'll be sure to update this thread with my findings in the can. Overall, its a great product, thanks @Mishimoto!

Edit: Those are not my cigarettes, just realized how fucking gross that looks.
