Just wanted to vent! Hit a damn semi tread on the on ramp broke my front bumper!

I just bought my 2013 Firestorm FR-S and only drive it on Friday to the office in midtown ATL and the weekends I've had it four weeks now and just this morning I hit a f*cking semi tread on the 85N on ramp near Newnan GA.... cracked off the whole left side of the bumper, jacked up the inner fender well, and popped my rear bumper corner off somehow???.....

Now debating buying parts myself or turning it in on a comprehensive claim... :(

Hope it didn't jack up anything else. I had lots of rubber marks on my catback system but form what i could tell with a brief look no dents. Drove it right back home and swapped with my other car just in case anything important underneath is messed up.

F my life I cant have nice things

Just a FYI, dealer prices for a back bumper and "trunk pan" was 1200 dollars.

With what it sounds like, have insurance fix it.

Side note, nothing like good ol georgia right? I work downtown as well, hate the commute on I20

Sorry to hear that. It's Friday so grab a beer and enjoy your weekend. Everything will work out for you.

Reminds me of a near miss I had myself in the first month of ownership in the ATL. Details in my Owner's Journal here...

It's not going to fall under comprehensive. It's going to fall under collision because you drove into it. It wasn't a "missile" (meaning it was coming at you where it was unavoidable).

I would go through insurance because paint/body work isn't cheap. Hmph :\

Thanks everyone. On a positive note at least my new wheels came in on Friday. That put a smile on face
