If you write this:

Quote:

Is this true? Would this be the third one sold in the nation? If so, wow. I've been reading as much as I can in this forum and am really starting to realize how unearthly/undeservingly lucky I am. So many of you have gone through the proper channels to get your car (and yet are getting delayed :()and I just happened to wake up early on a Saturday and dumb-arsed my way into one that I could take home that day. I know it's not exactly true, but I feel like I robbed one of you out of getting your car or something.
And then you do proceed to do this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Scion...item35bc3ef58e

You are a grade A+ D bag.

gwascopter 05-15-2012 08:12 PM

someone is gona bid on it, but they anit paying for it as usual.

Dark_Angle 05-15-2012 08:21 PM

What a jive. Seriously.

easybreazy 05-15-2012 08:22 PM

pwned

Afdad120108 05-15-2012 08:24 PM

Wow that didnt take long at all did it lol

KaliKev 05-15-2012 08:24 PM

What wrong with that? If someone is willing to pay what's the issue?

Not sure why anyone would get upset over it. Maybe someone has the cash and wants to have an exclusive car.

It's not like the dealerships only sell them to enthusiasts...

Subie 05-15-2012 08:25 PM

Only a complete fool would buy a used Scion for $10k over sticker.

Jay Grey 05-15-2012 08:26 PM

This guy!!! Got the FR-S and now trying to make profit on it... Wow! He didnt care bout the car or its history to get where its at today! I hope someone gives him a double black eye & a swift kick in the nuts!

dori. 05-15-2012 08:33 PM

'I'm gonna daily drive the car until it's sold'

GTFO.

dsgerbc 05-15-2012 08:38 PM

I bet it has a salvage title already.

MindtheGap 05-15-2012 08:39 PM

Probably does not even want to sell it but figures if someone is fanatical enough to pay 35K for it then why the hell not. He could collect the cash, pay off the car and have a nice down payment on one of his own again in a month or so. as the saying goes, "There is a sucker born every minute!" He just needs one.

RRnold 05-15-2012 08:49 PM

*SUBSCRIBED*

GLWS and I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually did bid on that price.

naticedog04 05-15-2012 08:54 PM

i dont blame the guy for trying to make a "buck"... but this is pretty low, tells everyone how lucky he feels, then tries to sell it to a "sucker" for an extra 10K... i hope he get's stuck making the payments on the car... if i lived in NC, i would wait for Toyota Financial to reposess his car and then i might buy it for a price closer to the actual value...

What makes you think he can't afford it?

ayau 05-15-2012 09:07 PM

since when was it illegal to make a profit on something?

he owns it. he can do whatever he wants with it.

mickey177 05-15-2012 09:08 PM

As bad as I want one. I think if i had 35K laying around.I probably just go bribe one of the car salesman to move me to the top of the list. Probably be cheaper and still get a brand new car. Not used.

cleethree 05-15-2012 09:17 PM

Trolling eBay. Nice.

ngabdala 05-15-2012 09:18 PM

LMAO Salvage.

Alot of people collect cars. Someone may be highly motivated to add a first 86 car to their collection. This car is going to set a trend among other automakers and I expect we will see many companies making their own rwd coupe.

whaap 05-15-2012 09:35 PM

It's a win-win for the owner. If someone is foolish enough to buy it he wins. If he doesn't sell it he wins. Nothing wrong with that picture.

GMU-BRZ 05-15-2012 09:50 PM

Surprised to see so many people defending this dbag move.

If this was a dealer taking advantage of this limited availability to make a buck people would be laying into them (see BRZ section blacklist). But since it's an individual it's suddenly ok?

This guy backed his way into one of the first 86, immediately posting about how lucky he was and thrilled he was to have the car. Well I guess he's not that happy about it is he? I mean, I could use $10k as much as anyone else, but i wouldn't consider trying this bullshit. Know why? Because there are other people out there that could have bought this car at MSRP and actually enjoyed the car for what it is. With such a limited availability right now, it's really crappy to think that 1 of 86 cars went to someone who really didn't care about it.

Passion not profit. This is unacceptable, and this guy should never show his face here again

rbrtndrws 05-15-2012 09:51 PM

Nothing wrong with this I guess... Like buying the newest iPhone and selling it to the first desperate sucker.

I'm a little pissed because I live fairly close to Asheville and I would have loved to have this car :P.

You are a grade A+ D bag.

First, I agree with your above rating.

Then again, in the end, I guess we all have a price right? I mean, if someone offered me the right amount, I'd sell them mine. it would be WAY more than $35K, but that just makes me a higher priced D Bag I guess.

315FR-S 05-15-2012 10:05 PM

i think most people are upset because he doesn't share the same passion as most of us on here do. he stumbled into it, he wasn't one of the first 86. so the passion probably isn't there. honestly, making 10k, turning around and buying another one doesnt sound like a bad idea. fr-s plus 10k=mod happy fr-s =] but it doesn't seem like that's his plan. markup's leave a bad taste in my mouth though. its expected from 75% of dealers out there. but private sales...ehh. thats a bit worse in my book

cyde01 05-15-2012 10:08 PM

honestly i might've done the same thing... sell the exclusive first 86 with the nice vin # to a collector for a premium, use the profit to buy a less exclusive FRS and get TRD parts :scared0016:

mines13 05-15-2012 10:14 PM

No, If he was just snaking the car for profit I would get it. But when you play the "I love it its awesome and I'm lucky to have it card" THEN proceeds on the flip side to leverage the demand for a buck, it is a D bag move. We expect it from a dealership, it's the game. It is not so much what he is doing that bothers me, it is the manner in which the guy went about it that rubs me wrong, it just shows poor character. I am not saying this is right OR wrong.

naticedog04 05-15-2012 10:14 PM

offering and selling are different... this guy is using the car as a DD trying to get a sucker to buy the car, but then june 1, there should be close to one FRS at every scion dealership(hopefully)... if this guy doesn't sell it within the next 16 days, he's stuck with the car...(not a bad situation in my book, but obviously he doesn't care about the car)... he's doing something that none of the other first 86'ers are doing... and its just lame... the first 86'ers are sharing opinions, thoughts, and initial reactions, which is appreciated by everyone on this forum... what he's doing is not appreciated IMHO

You are not actively marketing your vehicle for 10K over MSRP are you? Probably not, I do not believe you are wired that way. You wanted your car and you bought your car so that you and yours may enjoy it. :happy0180:

ichitaka05 05-15-2012 10:20 PM

Question is, is it really him? Once some moron used photos of my Impreza and sell it on eBay. Several of my friends were texting me asking if I was selling my car lol

The eBay username is the same...I think it's a safe bet it's the same person.

I didn't check that detail LOL k, I'll take it back my statement.

Sad to see it happen... but it's his damn car, he can do whatever he want to it.

Just like that tuning shop made vert FR-S

thill 05-15-2012 10:31 PM

Yeah, it is his car. But it is a rather douchbag move IMHO. Kinda like those guys who camp out on release day for a new video game console that costs $300 and then try to sell it for $1200 to some family who has a kid that wants one for Christmas...

I think it bothers a few of us First-86er's - in my case, my car has been sitting at the dealer for at least 2 weeks, and I can't take it home as Scion set my delivery date for May 16th. Within that two week timeframe, this guy backs into a First-86 FRS and lists it on ebay?!

I get it that the guy likely didn't know he was backing into a somewhat exclusive pre-release vehicle. I don't blame him for that, I don't really blame him for selling it either.

But I am a little miffed by the process, in which FIRST 86 was supposed to mean what it says. I think that either that car should have been held until the First 86 (First 85?) were delivered, OR (and better yet), someone on the First 86 waiting list should have been notified.
