If he can take this car, magically switch the side I'm driving on, replace all the Scion badges with Toyota/GT-86 I'm sold... Until then I'll wait until my BRZ comes in. :)

I didn't check that detail LOL k, I'll take it back my statement.

Sad to see it happen... but it's his damn car, he can do whatever he want to it.

Just like that tuning shop made vert FR-S

couldnt agree more! I just hope no one indulges him by paying some ridiculous amount when its not necessary.

Agreed. We don't know the full details on exactly what happened here, but I think (and hope) it was the dealership that made the mistake of selling the car to a random customer.

I do not disagree with you but that is not how it works. Several of the First 86ers have backed out and the cars just become part of the dealer allocation and go to the first buyer that wants them and has the cash or credit to buy it. I am 99% sure that I know where there is one right now that will go unclaimed. If I was a betting man I would put money on the bet that at least 20% of the cars meant to be bought by First 86 will go unclaimed.

Very true, I actually made the same point in the "other" thread. My only stipulation was that it should be offered to the first buyer on that dealer's waiting list.

all i can say is thanks for the entertainment guys and glws! i'd be surprised if someone buys it for that price when they only need to wait a month or so to drive one off the dealer lot at msrp, but hey if someone does i guess that's their loss and your gain!

Not rude at all and no apology necessary, it's a legit question. I was actually really uncertain when I was going through the buying process (pit stains something fierce), but I knew it was a very rare opportunity and had read such great reviews that I figured I had to go for it. I actually called a couple people (ex-coaches, mentors, dad, etc.) to see what they thought and they all seemed cautiously for it as long as I could personally shoulder it financially. They don't expect me to contribute money to my family's situation, but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't or can't. And it's not until you add the additional responsibilities does the purchase seem dumb and selfish. And was it? Probably. Especially since I didn't intend on selling it. But it was my decision and I went with it.

Thank you for at least asking an honest question and not making me feel like a piece of sh!t about all this.

Rmccoy, I was not going to get into this, but some of these comments are a little irritating. You don't have to explain yourself to anybody on this board. It is your car and if you sell it for a profit then congratulations!

I personally think it is smart. Recognizing an opportunity to make a profit an executing on that is how you make money last time I checked.
