You are a grade A+ D bag.

First, I agree with your above rating.

Then again, in the end, I guess we all have a price right? I mean, if someone offered me the right amount, I'd sell them mine. it would be WAY more than $35K, but that just makes me a higher priced D Bag I guess.

i think most people are upset because he doesn't share the same passion as most of us on here do. he stumbled into it, he wasn't one of the first 86. so the passion probably isn't there. honestly, making 10k, turning around and buying another one doesnt sound like a bad idea. fr-s plus 10k=mod happy fr-s =] but it doesn't seem like that's his plan. markup's leave a bad taste in my mouth though. its expected from 75% of dealers out there. but private sales...ehh. thats a bit worse in my book

cyde01 05-15-2012 10:08 PM

honestly i might've done the same thing... sell the exclusive first 86 with the nice vin # to a collector for a premium, use the profit to buy a less exclusive FRS and get TRD parts :scared0016:

mines13 05-15-2012 10:14 PM

No, If he was just snaking the car for profit I would get it. But when you play the "I love it its awesome and I'm lucky to have it card" THEN proceeds on the flip side to leverage the demand for a buck, it is a D bag move. We expect it from a dealership, it's the game. It is not so much what he is doing that bothers me, it is the manner in which the guy went about it that rubs me wrong, it just shows poor character. I am not saying this is right OR wrong.

naticedog04 05-15-2012 10:14 PM

offering and selling are different... this guy is using the car as a DD trying to get a sucker to buy the car, but then june 1, there should be close to one FRS at every scion dealership(hopefully)... if this guy doesn't sell it within the next 16 days, he's stuck with the car...(not a bad situation in my book, but obviously he doesn't care about the car)... he's doing something that none of the other first 86'ers are doing... and its just lame... the first 86'ers are sharing opinions, thoughts, and initial reactions, which is appreciated by everyone on this forum... what he's doing is not appreciated IMHO

You are not actively marketing your vehicle for 10K over MSRP are you? Probably not, I do not believe you are wired that way. You wanted your car and you bought your car so that you and yours may enjoy it. :happy0180:

Question is, is it really him? Once some moron used photos of my Impreza and sell it on eBay. Several of my friends were texting me asking if I was selling my car lol

The eBay username is the same...I think it's a safe bet it's the same person.

I didn't check that detail LOL k, I'll take it back my statement.

Sad to see it happen... but it's his damn car, he can do whatever he want to it.

Just like that tuning shop made vert FR-S

thill 05-15-2012 10:31 PM

Yeah, it is his car. But it is a rather douchbag move IMHO. Kinda like those guys who camp out on release day for a new video game console that costs $300 and then try to sell it for $1200 to some family who has a kid that wants one for Christmas...

I think it bothers a few of us First-86er's - in my case, my car has been sitting at the dealer for at least 2 weeks, and I can't take it home as Scion set my delivery date for May 16th. Within that two week timeframe, this guy backs into a First-86 FRS and lists it on ebay?!

I get it that the guy likely didn't know he was backing into a somewhat exclusive pre-release vehicle. I don't blame him for that, I don't really blame him for selling it either.

But I am a little miffed by the process, in which FIRST 86 was supposed to mean what it says. I think that either that car should have been held until the First 86 (First 85?) were delivered, OR (and better yet), someone on the First 86 waiting list should have been notified.

No, you are absolutely correct, I am not, nor will I most likely ever, market this car. I plan on driving until the axles fall off, replacing them, driving it until the engine falls out and replacing it. One of my sons will eventually get this car after I'm gone, assuming I deem them worthy!

That said, if I go to Cars and Coffee next week and someone offers to write me an unsolicited check for $70K, I MIGHT sell it to them. Again, I said might.

But for $10K over, nah, no thanks. But, I don't fault the guy for trying. In the end, someone that is willing to pay $10K over for the car probably thinks more like you and I and the car would be in better hands anyway. That's how I see it.
