Probably does not even want to sell it but figures if someone is fanatical enough to pay 35K for it then why the hell not. He could collect the cash, pay off the car and have a nice down payment on one of his own again in a month or so. as the saying goes, "There is a sucker born every minute!" He just needs one.

*SUBSCRIBED*

GLWS and I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually did bid on that price.

i dont blame the guy for trying to make a "buck"... but this is pretty low, tells everyone how lucky he feels, then tries to sell it to a "sucker" for an extra 10K... i hope he get's stuck making the payments on the car... if i lived in NC, i would wait for Toyota Financial to reposess his car and then i might buy it for a price closer to the actual value...

What makes you think he can't afford it?

ayau 05-15-2012 09:07 PM

since when was it illegal to make a profit on something?

he owns it. he can do whatever he wants with it.

mickey177 05-15-2012 09:08 PM

As bad as I want one. I think if i had 35K laying around.I probably just go bribe one of the car salesman to move me to the top of the list. Probably be cheaper and still get a brand new car. Not used.

Trolling eBay. Nice.

ngabdala 05-15-2012 09:18 PM

LMAO Salvage.

Alot of people collect cars. Someone may be highly motivated to add a first 86 car to their collection. This car is going to set a trend among other automakers and I expect we will see many companies making their own rwd coupe.

whaap 05-15-2012 09:35 PM

It's a win-win for the owner. If someone is foolish enough to buy it he wins. If he doesn't sell it he wins. Nothing wrong with that picture.

GMU-BRZ 05-15-2012 09:50 PM

Surprised to see so many people defending this dbag move.

If this was a dealer taking advantage of this limited availability to make a buck people would be laying into them (see BRZ section blacklist). But since it's an individual it's suddenly ok?

This guy backed his way into one of the first 86, immediately posting about how lucky he was and thrilled he was to have the car. Well I guess he's not that happy about it is he? I mean, I could use $10k as much as anyone else, but i wouldn't consider trying this bullshit. Know why? Because there are other people out there that could have bought this car at MSRP and actually enjoyed the car for what it is. With such a limited availability right now, it's really crappy to think that 1 of 86 cars went to someone who really didn't care about it.

Passion not profit. This is unacceptable, and this guy should never show his face here again

rbrtndrws 05-15-2012 09:51 PM

Nothing wrong with this I guess... Like buying the newest iPhone and selling it to the first desperate sucker.

I'm a little pissed because I live fairly close to Asheville and I would have loved to have this car :P.
